ROME – A comprehensive meeting with leftist groups and organizations was held in Rome, the capital of Italy.
Before the meeting, Maria Edgarda Marcucci’s book “The Proteg of the Lord” was introduced. Maria Edgarda Marcucci was sentenced to two years of “special house arrest” by the Italian judiciary in March 2020 for joining the Women’s Defense Forces (YPJ) in Rojava.
Italian youth discussed the situation in Kurdistan, the extent of the war, and the purpose of the invading Turkish state’s attacks in the meeting.
In addition, a march led by Kurdish and international youth was planned for June 4.
50 people, including representatives of various leftist movements in Rome, attended the meeting. The meeting organized by the international youth group “Ciwanên Azad ên Roma yê” took place at the Ararat Kurdish Association in Rome.
