NEWS CENTER – In recent days, the Turkish occupying state, in collaboration with gangs and mercenary groups, has intensified attacks on civilian regions in northeastern Syria. It is obvious that the Turkish occupier state in the free mountains of Kurdistan cannot do anything against the resistance of the guerrillas and directs its anger at the self-administered areas, against the civilian population.
THE TURKISH OCCUPIERS CAN NO LONGER CURB HIS RAGE
While the international public is silent, the Turkish occupying state in the free mountains of Kurdistan relies on the massive use of banned chemicals and tries to massacre the guerrillas of Kurdistan Freedom with this inhumane method. As the HPG informed in the past days, the Turkish occupying state attacked the guerrillas with chemical weapons 23 times on May 20 alone, in the period of May 17-19 chemical weapons were used 39 times and in the period of May 13-14 chemical weapons were used 13 times in the resistance areas of the guerrillas by the Turkish occupying soldiers. In addition, the areas were bombed hundreds of times with drones, warplanes, attack helicopters and howitzers launched by the guard posts at the borders.
It is obvious that the Turkish occupying state has increased the use of chemical weapons in order to achieve success. The silence of the international forces, as well as lack of reporting in the public international media, support the Turkish regime in the incessant use of prohibited war weapons and war crimes.
ATTACKS ON CIVILIAN FACILITIES IN NORTHEASTERN SYRIA.
Not only that, but airstrikes and howitzer bombardments against civilian regions in northeastern Syria have increased. In recent days, especially the region of Til Temir, Ain Issa and Şehba became the target of massive attacks, among which civilians and children are the most affected.
MASSIVE ATTACKS ON REGION TIL TEMIR
Thus, yesterday the Turkish occupation army with its gangs attacked the Chabur valley, in Til Temir region at least eleven villages. The artillery rockets were fired mainly from the occupied areas in Serêkaniyê, which also targeted the agricultural fields of the region in order to massively hinder the economic situation of the people. For example, in Tall Jumah, three farmers were injured during the harvest when the Turkish occupying soldiers opened fire on them. The injured farmers, aged 20-30, were treated in hospital with minor injuries, but a field fire broke out and destroyed the harvest.
In addition, the electricity plant in the north of Til Temir came under fire. Although there is a Russian military base in the immediate vicinity, Russian troops did not intervene.
Other attacks were directed against the villages of al-Dardara, Tall Shanan, al-Gheibish, Tawila, Tel Al-Ward (Tall Elward), Qasr Touma Yalda, Khabisha, al-Aboush, Khirbet al-Shair, and Rabiat. Hundreds of artillery shells were fired at the villages, according to the Suryoye Military Council in the region. The full extent of the damage is still unclear, though “intense shelling” was observed. Several houses in civilian settlement areas were damaged or destroyed.
Attacks in the region occur almost daily, with periods of high intensity alternating with periods of low intensity. Twenty-seven villages in the Khabur Valley are located directly on the front line, and five of all Assyrian villages in the region have been cleared by the invasion attacks of the Turkish occupiers. Numerous people have died in the attacks, and dozens have been injured. Although Syrian and Russian military forces are stationed in the region, the de-escalation and ceasefire agreements are not respected.
More than thirty villages off Til Temir have already been occupied since the Turkish occupation invasion of Serêkaniyê and Girê Spî (Tall Abyad) launched on October 9, 2019.
Again, the international forces are silent, although these are clear war crimes.
ATTACKS ON AIN ISSA
In the small town of Ain Issa in north-eastern Syria a civilian injured by a drone attack by the Turkish occupying state, yesterday afternoon. The head injuries of the 25-year-old young man is currently being treated in the local hospital.
The target of the attack was Mişêrfa (Mushairefah) village in eastern Ain Issa.
Last Tuesday, May 17, in the village of Qertac in the south of Ain Issa, mother Neime al-Mudhi and her four children Ketale (6), Menhel (9), Ezra (10) and Hayil Alî al-Hamûd (12) were injured by artillery attacks from the Turkish occupying state. The Arab family was living in tents near the Russian military base after fleeing their villages. The family was treated at the hospital in Reqqa. The Rojava Violations Documentation Center highlights that since the October 2019 ceasefire and de-escalation agreement reached between Russia, the United States and Turkey following the occupation of Girê Spî (Tall Abyad) and Serêkaniyê (Ras al-Ain), at least 62 civilians have died as a result of attacks by the Turkish occupying state on the Ain Issa region. More than half of the 62 casualties were still minors (37 minors).
MISSING PUBLICITY SUPPORTS THE WAR CRIMES
It is likely that the attacks of the Turkish occupying state on the civilian regions of north-eastern Syria will intensify, as will the use of prohibited weapons of war, such as poisonous gases and chemical weapons against the Medya defense areas. Since the army of the Turkish occupying state cannot achieve any success in the resistance areas of the Kurdistan Freedom Guerrilla, the fascist AKP-MHP regime uses dirty methods that violate the law of war and are against humanity. As long as the international forces and the international public are silent against these war crimes and crimes against humanity, the Turkish occupying regime with the support of NATO and the KDP will carry out these attacks in order to destroy the achievements of the Kurdish people, to destroy the self-government in north-eastern Syria and to massacre the people who participate in the struggle for freedom.
