BEHDINAN – Dr. Mazlum, one of the commanders of the People’s Defense Forces (HPG) spoke to ANF on the occasion of the 46th May Month of Martyrs.
Remembering all the martyrs of the Kurdistan revolution in the persons of those who fell in the month of May, Dr. Mazlum vowed to follow in the footsteps of those fallen and continue their work.
“We will follow in the footsteps of our martyrs to the last drop of blood. We have reached these days thanks to our fallen comrades. The history of our revolution has a different place in the history of world revolutions. During the last 28 uprisings, the occupiers continuously pursued policies of annihilation, occupation and genocide against the Kurds and Kurdistan. In response to this, Rêber Apo (Abdullah Öcalan) and his leading comrades undertook a struggle for freedom. Thanks to their work and endeavor, Kurds and Kurdistan are known worldwide today,” he said.
Remembering Turkish revolutionaries Deniz Gezmiş and İbrahim Kaypakkaya, the HPG commander said, “These valuable leaders of the revolution should not be forgotten. We should always follow in their footsteps and carry on the path. The stance, lives and struggles of our fallen comrades set an example to us today.”
Pointing to the threats of the Turkish state, Dr. Mazlum stated, “The Turkish state experiences great fear because it knows it is unjust. Coming from Central Asia, they invaded the Middle East and Kurdistan, and ignored the Kurds. However, the whole world knows that should the revolution succeed, four parts of Kurdistan will be freed from invaders and liberated. We have this determination and our ideology is based on this. Possessed with fear in the course of its ongoing war, the Turkish state clings to technical power.”
The HPG Commander concluded, “They persistently claim that they will destroy the PKK. Let everyone know that no one can destroy the PKK. Even if a single Kurd remains on earth, he will fight for the freedom of Kurdistan. This is very clear to us. The AKP-MHP has made every Kurd into a target and declared him an enemy, for which very reason, every Kurd should act with this awareness and consciousness.”
