BEHDÎNAN – The HPG Press Liaison Center made the following statement regarding the martyrs
“On April 19, 2022, our comrades Arîn, Sarîna, Simko and Çiya, who joined the PKK ranks from three parts of Kurdistan and dedicated themselves to ensure the freedom of our people, were martyred in the attacks carried out by the occupying Turkish army against the Metîna area. Our valiant comrades who fought by joining the Kurdistan Freedom Movement from three parts of Kurdistan have become the truth of both the level the PKK has reached in national freedom and the price our movement has paid for the freedom of Kurdistan. We promise to keep their memories and names alive in Free Kurdistan by walking in the footsteps of our martyred comrades and leading our struggle to victory. We extend our condolences to all the people of Kurdistan, especially to the dear patriotic families of our martyred comrades.
The identity information of our martyred comrades is as follows:

ARÎN BARGIRAN
Our comrade Arîn, who is from the Alikî tribe, was born in Sêrt in a patriotic and Koçer family. The fact that his family and his immediate surroundings were both patriotic and had many participants and martyrs in our movement enabled our comrade Arîn to get to know the freedom struggle from an early age. The political stance of the family was influential in shaping the personality of our comrade Arîn, and she did not remain insensitive to the problem of existence of our people. Because of this, she began to sympathize with our movement that fought for the existence of our people. In 2014, when his uncle was martyred in the war to protect our Yazidi people against ISIS barbarism, he decided to join the guerrilla ranks, which he had dreamed of before, thinking that his uncle’s weapon should be removed, and joined the guerrilla ranks in Gabar, the land of the Egids. After completing his basic training, he immediately got used to guerrilla life. She was very impressed by the comradeship relations and life of the PKK, which she knew from the guerrilla stories she had listened to before and which she later joined herself, as well as the ideology of women’s liberation created by Leader Apo. Especially in the ranks of our Party, the PKK, the fact that women were valued and became pioneers was the main issue that affected her.
Comrade Arîn embraced this life, of which she was now a part. Comrade Arîn, who knows the sanctity and value of labor well because she is a Koçer, has adopted the principle of being a pioneer in every field she is in with her laborer characteristic. In the face of the attack of ISIS gangs, she went to the Shengal area at her own suggestion to respond to the cry of our Yazidi people, especially women, who were viciously attacked by Daesh. In Shengal, she avenged the women with every bullet she fired against ISIS, the new representative of the reactionary masculine mentality of thousands of years. With the liberation of Sinjar, she turned her face to the mountains again, and with the experiences she gained there, she waged an active struggle with great determination for two years against the colonialist genocidal Turkish state, which has a more outdated mentality that has left ISIS barbarism behind in the Heftanîn area. It fulfilled its pioneering mission by participating in the actions in Heftanîn, where the fascist Turkish state suffered heavy blows. By deepening herself in the Ideology of Women’s Liberation, she managed to be worthy of the legacy left by our martyred comrades, from Saras to Bêritan, Viyan, Esmer and Mizgins, by participating succinctly and sacrificially.
Code Name: Sarîna Amed
Name Surname: Cahide Cetin
Place of Birth Amed
Mother – Father Name: Mekiye – Bülent

SARÎNA AMED
Our comrade Sarîna was born in the Çınar district of Amed, which became a symbol in the Kurdistan Freedom Struggle and paid the price by martyring hundreds of valiant children in the ranks of freedom. The political stance of the city of Amed also had an impact on our comrade Sarîna. This influence gradually revealed her contradictions within the system. Although she grew up in a city like Amed, she realized that she could not speak her mother tongue and could not live her ancient culture of thousands of years due to the assimilation policies of the genocidal Turkish state, which was trying to colonize our country, and entered into a search. As a result of this search, she joined the guerrilla ranks in 2014 by giving her direction to the rebellious and unyielding mountains of Kurdistan in order to establish a meaningful life in a free country by asking the fascist and genocidal state to account for and avenge all oppressed women “as the first exploited people, class and gender” in the words of our Leadership.
With the basic education she received here, she managed to carry her Kurdish self and consciousness to an advanced stage and integrated it with Kurdish values. With Leader Apo’s determination to “know yourself”, as long as she knew herself, she became aware of her self-empowerment as a woman, and again, with Leader Apo’s ideology and paradigm, she endeavored to purify herself moment by moment from the damages caused by the enemy. Our comrade Sarîna, who managed to be an exemplary militant with her mature, talented and moral participation among her comrades throughout her entire struggle life, was able to create values with great effort. Based on Leader Apo’s determination that “he who fights becomes free, he who becomes free becomes beautiful, and he who becomes beautiful is loved”, he became a militant loved by his comrades because he was in a relentless war against all the pollution of the system.

SİMKO SERHILDAN
Our comrade Simko was born into a patriotic family in Banê, Rojhilatê Kurdistan. Due to the patriotic nature of his family, he grew up with Kurdish and Kurdistan values at an early age. Comrade Simko, growing up on the border of Bashûr and Rojhilat, realized at an early age that our country was divided into four parts and that our people, who had been massacred countless times, were wanted to be subjected to genocide. This caused a great hatred in him and he grew up with the belief that all massacres must be avenged. Due to the deep-rooted tradition of resistance he inherited from his family, he came to the conclusion that he should join the active struggle. Meeting the guerrillas of our freedom movement was a turning point for him. Seeing the comradeship and life of the PKK in the person of the guerrillas and the relentless struggle for the freedom of our people, he decided to join the guerrilla ranks. He joined the guerrilla in 2014 for a free life and country. Comrade Simko realized that emotions alone were not enough to wage an organized and conscious struggle in our ranks, and he became an Apoist sacrificial militant in order to better learn the philosophy created by Leader Apo.
Comrade Simko, who educated himself with the core values of Apoism, has become a personality that every one of our friends wants to work with with his loyal, clean, pure and laboring characteristics. He showed great effort and labor to further beautify and enrich the PKK life and comradeship that he was influenced by. For this, he has always preferred to be at the forefront and has always been a pioneer. With his stance and participation, he gave confidence to his comrades and led his comrades to actively participate in the struggle. Our comrade Simko, who managed to overcome all difficulties by constantly participating with morale and enthusiasm, became a militant and sustainer of a meaningful life. He also studied at military academies in order to respond to the military tendencies of the enemy and to become Leader Apo’s bodyguard and a professional guerrilla of democratic modernity; he became a professional guerrilla by combining what he learned with Apoist philosophy with the military field. As the successor of our martyred comrade Simko Serhildan, one of our great commanders who brought new tactical expansions to our movement in both ideological and military fields, he made a great effort for this cause. He took part in many strategic studies that required utmost sensitivity, sensitivity, self-discipline and sacrifice, and by successfully carrying out these studies, he proved that he was a candidate for a great commander.

ÇİYA SERÊKANİYÊ
Our comrade Çiya was born in a patriotic family in Serêkaniyê, which has an important position in the history of Kurdistan with its cultural accumulation. Comrade Çiya, who stepped into his youth years under the conditions of the Rojava Freedom Revolution, was very influenced by the Rojava Freedom Revolution. As the son of a people who lived under severe oppression and persecution for years, Comrade Çiya, who tried to be worthy of our martyrs, to whom we owe it to live in this environment of freedom that emerged with the philosophy of Leader Apo, was aware that this was through struggle. For this, he joined the guerrilla ranks in 2016. He believed that true freedom in Kurdistan could only be possible through the defeat of all occupiers, especially the colonialist Turkish state, and he was convinced that this could only be achieved through professional revolutionism. For this reason, from the moment he first joined the guerrilla ranks, he tried to develop himself both ideologically and militarily, and made a great effort. He considered the mountains of Kurdistan as the only places of freedom and believed that only in these mountains could one meet with oneself and be oneself. Our comrade Çiya, who thinks that all youth should join the guerrilla ranks and fight the colonialist Turkish state, has always suggested going to the areas where the war is most intense. He has set himself the first task of educating himself on the principles of Democratic Modernity Guerrillaism and has made a significant effort to become a professional guerrilla. We promise that we will definitely successfully conclude our struggle for freedom, which was handed over to us by our comrade Çiya, who managed to gain the respect of all his comrades with his hardworking, humble and simple personality.
We extend our condolences to the families of our comrades Arîn, Sarîna, Simko and Çiya, whose martyrdom further sharpened our determination and resolve to fight, and to all the patriotic people of Kurdistan.”
