BEHDINAN – HPG Press Center shared the following information regarding the invasion attacks carried out by the Turkish state in the Zap and Avaşîn regions of Medya Defense Zones:
“Our forces, on the basis of the Revolutionary People’s War perspective, carried out effective actions against the occupiers in many areas with the Apoist self-sacrificing spirit and high courage. Semi-mobile guerrilla units and our forces in the battle positions struck the invaders with a high performance on the 40th day of the historical resistance. Despite desperately bombarding the resistance areas with chemical weapons 23 times, with warplanes 31 times and with howitzers hundreds of times, it did not achieve any results.As a result of the actions carried out by our forces, 19 invaders were punished, 4 invaders were wounded, 1 position, 2 mobesse camera systems, 1 military telescope were destroyed and 1 position and 1 garage were damaged.
The details of the actions taken are as follows;
IN AVAŞIN REGION;
- On May 23, at 13:00, the invaders around Girê Werxelê in the Werxelê Resistance Area were targeted and shot by our forces with an assassination tactic, and 1 invader was punished. The invaders, who carried out surveillance activities at noon on the same day and wanted to install a mobesse camera system in the area, were targeted and shot by our forces with heavy weapons. After the intervention of our forces, the invaders fled, leaving the mobesse camera system they had brought with them.
IN ZAP REGION;
- On 22 May, the invading Turkish army wanted to advance after the Martyr Tolhildan war positions in Kurojahro Resistance Area were bombarded with chemical weapons and explosives. As a result of the intervention of our forces, intense clashes took place between the invaders and our forces. The invaders who were hit had to retreat.
- At noon on 22 and 23 May, the invaders around the Martyr Hewrê battle positions in the Martyr Şahin Resistance Area were targeted and shot by our forces with individual and heavy weapons. After the intervention of our forces, the invaders had to retreat one step.
- On 23 May, the invaders in the Cîloya Biçûk area were targeted and shot by our forces with sabotage tactics. As a result of this action, 2 invaders were punished.
- On May 23, at 11:40, the invaders around the Martyr Berxwedan battle positions of the Martyr Şahin Resistance Area were targeted and shot by our forces. As a result of this action, while 2 invaders were punished, 1 position, 1 military telescope and 2 mobesse camera systems were destroyed. After the action, the invaders who wanted to bombard the war positions with explosives were again targeted by our forces and shot with personal weapons. Here, too, 2 occupants were punished and 1 occupant was seriously injured. The invaders, who wanted to advance again at 17:50, were targeted and shot this time by our forces with heavy weapons.
- As a result of these effective actions of our forces; 4 invaders were punished, 1 invader was seriously injured, 1 position, 2 mobesse camera systems and 1 military telescope were destroyed. In the evening of the same day, the invading Turkish army bombarded the battle positions 12 times with chemical weapons and explosives.
- At 09:00 on 23 May, the invading Turkish army took action around the battle positions in the Şikefta Birîndara Resistance Area, and was shot by our forces with individual weapons at close range. On the same day, at 19:00, the invaders who wanted to advance towards the battle positions were hit again by our forces with hand grenades and personal weapons. As a result of these actions carried out by our forces, at least 3 invaders were punished and 1 invader was injured.
- On 23 May, the invading Turkish army bombed the Şikefta Birîndara, Girê Hell and Martyr Berxwedan battle positions 11 times with chemical weapons and explosives.
- IN METINA AND HEFTANIN REGIONS;
- On May 23, at 16:30, the Kani Masi outpost of the invading Turkish army in the Kanî Masî sub-district of Duhok was targeted by our forces. As a result of the effective hits of our forces, 1 garage and 1 position in the outpost campus were hit.
- On May 23, at 05:00, a secret unit belonging to the invading Turkish army in the Martyr Agir area of Girê Ortê in Metîna, after being taken under control by our forces, was effectively hit in both arms with hand grenades and individual weapons. As a result of this action, 2 invaders were punished.
- On May 19, at 11:40, the invaders on the move around Girê Xaç in Heftanîn’s Xantûr area were targeted and hit effectively by our forces. As a result of this effective action carried out by our forces, 7 invaders were punished and 2 invaders were injured.
The actions in Metîna and Heftanîn were carried out to avenge our immortal commanders, our comrades Mirza and Andok.
OCCUPATION ATTACKS
The invading Turkish army bombed the Medya Defense Areas hundreds of times with warplanes, attack helicopters and howitzers.
The details of the attacks are as follows:
- On 23 May, Zap’s Gire Amiye, Gire Bihar, Gire FM, Saca, Çemço, Rênçbir Axa, Şikefta Birîndara, Kurojahro and Sîda areas were bombed by howitzers, attack helicopters and 17 times warplanes dropped from the police stations on the border line.
- On 23 May, the Girê Hakkarî, Geliyê Beşîle and Golka areas in the Metîna region were bombed with howitzers fired from the outposts on the border line and 10 times with warplanes.
- On 23 May, the Werxelê Resistance Area in Avaşîn region was bombed 4 times by warplanes.
- On May 23, the Girê Şekîf slopes and Geliyê Lolan areas in the Xakurkê region were bombed with howitzers and mortars fired from the outposts on the border line.”
