BEHDÎNAN – The Press and Information Office of the HPG announced the results of the guerrilla activities in Xakurk. The HPG said in a statement:
“Our forces carried out strong operations in the Xakurk region against the occupiers in the spirit of the Revolutionary Steps of the Zagros Basin. A total of 28 occupiers were punished in the action, our comrades Rustem, Lezgin, Agit and Dijwar were martyred. Detailed information of the activities is as follows;
On 14 May at 00:30 hours, an act of sabotage was carried out against the occupiers in the area between the villages of Lelikan and Dayla in Xakurk. As a result of this action, the vehicle with the Reo type of occupiers was completely destroyed and 14 occupants were punished.
On the night of 15-16 May at 00:00, a coordinated guerrilla action was carried out in the area of Lelikan Hill in the Xakurk region, against the hill where the occupiers were. Our forces with two wings surrendered to the enemy forces. In a short time, like lightning, all the occupiers’ positions on the hill were destroyed and our forces completely conquered the hill without any losses. There went over 12 corpses of the invaders and it became clear that all had been punished. Fighting broke out between our forces and the occupiers around the village of Herkar during the withdrawal and continued until early in the morning. 2 invaders were punished in this war. Our comrades Rustem, Lezgin, Agit and Dijwar who bravely went against the enemy, conquered the enemy targets in a short time with the creation of tactics and punished a total of 14 invaders in this action, were bravely martyred.

RUSTEM QENDÎL
Our friend Rustem was born in the city of Kamyaran in East Kurdistan. With a deep sense of patriotism our people of the East grew up with a commitment to their social identity and country. So despite 11 years of successfully studying in the regime’s schools, he chose to take part in the people’s struggle for freedom. Our comrade Rustem joined the Kurdistan Freedom Struggle in 2013 and took the name Rustem to walk the line of heroism. Our comrade Rustem who had one word and one nature, one thought and one work, made it a principle to live like his name. In many parts of Kurdistan, with high revolutionary spirit and belief in victory, he successfully carried out various tasks. Deep in the party ideology, as a selfless Apoyi militant he advanced in the art of war. He tried hard to understand and implement the guerrilla line of the new era and went to the Xakurk region at the level of unit commander. He soon learned of this area and took on the pioneering role. Our comrade Rustem, who had a great rage against the invaders, with great courage, as an Apoyi commander led the action on the night of 16 May. Consequently he carried out this action and was martyred in battle after the action.

LEZGÎN BAWER
Comrade Lezgin was born in Şirnex Province and grew up in the patriotic and strong moral family of the Haruna tribe. Comrade Lezgin’s two uncles were martyred in the cause of freedom and he was closely acquainted with the freedom struggle. Comrade Lezgin joined the guerrilla ranks in 2013 and after training new fighters in the Median Defense Areas, he joined the guerrillas and remained in the areas of Gare, Qandil and Xakurk. He has quickly advanced with his virtuous, selfless and hardworking qualities. In addition to his great courage he has taken part in various works. He took over as the team commander and most recently moved to Xakurk area. In his actions against the invaders he used the style of guerrilla warfare well and became one of the commanders of the time. In the action of 16 May he inflicted heavy blows on the enemy with his great courage and fought till morning. In this battle he fought heroically and then was martyred.

AGÎT ROJHILAT
Comrade Agit was born into a patriotic family in the city of Urmia in East Kurdistan. Since his brother joined the guerrillas for the freedom of Kurdistan, he also knew the struggle for the freedom of Kurdistan as a child and grew up with a patriotic culture. In 2006, when his brother Xemgin Rojhilat was martyred in Cudi, Agit’s anger increased, and in 2014 he joined the guerrilla ranks in Serhed. After training new fighters in the Median Defense Areas, he became closely acquainted with the ideology of Apoyi and the PKK and served as a guerrilla in Xakurk. He later guerrillaized in various areas of the Median Protection Areas and held important positions. He has successfully completed every task and has been an exemplary friend in terms of his attitude and involvement. Xakurk has also been involved in the practice with great excitement. In the May 16 action he also took his place in the successful action and inflicted heavy blows on the invaders. Comrade Agit fought valiantly and was martyred in the battle after the action.

DIJWAR ERTÛŞÎ
Comrade Dijwar also grew up with a patriotic culture as a member of the patriotic Ertuş tribe in the Xaçort neighborhood of Van. The rebellious attitude of the youth of Xaçort had a great influence on him and he became involved in the activities of the revolutionary youth. He played a leading role in many uprisings. The enemy has captured him many times but still he has not given up the fight. Comrade Dijwar also joined the guerrilla ranks in 2015 when the Turkish state launched a genocidal attack on the Kurdish people. Comrade Dijwar has started practicing in Xakurk area and has gained experience day by day. Comrade Dijwar has been involved in many activities in Xakurk and has strengthened himself militarily. In the action of 16th May he became one of the heroes who inflicted a heavy blow on the enemy and in the battle after the action which lasted till morning, he was martyred after the heroic battle.
The families of our comrades Rustem, Lezgin, Agit and Dijwar, who wrote in Xakurk, send their condolences to the people of Kurdistan.”
14 OCCUPIERS WERE PUNISHED AND 3 DRONES SHOT DOWN
The HPG Press and Information Center said, “Our forces in the Resistance Zones are carrying out the fighting style of the mobile guerrilla teams and the fighting style of the checkpoints and tunnels with strong tactics.” Our forces are clearing the accounts of the occupiers and the initiative in the Areas of Resistance is in the hands of our forces. The occupier Turkish army is very tense and uses chemical weapons against the battlefields and guerrilla tunnels. The Turkish state uses chemical weapons every day. These attacks with chemical weapons are not normal attacks and no one should see these attacks as anything out of the ordinary.
This war crime should not be considered normal. Whatever the occupier Turkish state uses it will not be able to break the historical resistance of the guerrillas and the selfless will of Apoyi. On May 17, chemical weapons were used 44 times against battlefields and tunnels in the Resistance Zones. Our forces responded to these attacks on the invaders. In the actions of our forces 14 invaders were punished, 6 invaders were wounded and 3 drones were shot down.
Information on guerrilla activities is as follows:
IN THE AVASHIN AREA
On 17 April at 12.00 and 14.05 hours when the occupiers wanted to bombard the Werxel Resistance Area with chemical weapons, our forces attacked them with heavy weapons and sabotage. One occupant was punished and 3 occupants were injured in these actions.
Due to the strong actions of our forces, the occupiers suffered heavy casualties and were forced to withdraw a step. The occupiers bombed the Werxel Resistance Area 15 times with chemical weapons and explosives.
IN THE ZAPÊ AREA
On 17 May at 13.00 hours the occupiers were twice targeted by our forces around the battlefields of the Kevirkun area of the Wounded Cave Resistance Area. Our forces assassinated these invaders and punished 2 invaders.
At 07.20 on 17 May, when the occupiers tried to reach the battle positions of the Wounded Cave Resistance Area, our forces took control of the occupiers, firing individual and heavy weapons at the occupiers. Due to the strong intervention of our forces the occupiers could not come forward and withdrew a step. Our forces deployed 2 drones on the field and shot down these drones. At noon our forces fired heavy weapons, assassinated and three times sabotaged the invaders. Here 8 invaders were punished and 3 invaders were also injured. The occupier Turkish army was forced to evacuate the dead and wounded by helicopter in the evening. Our forces also deployed these helicopters and the helicopters were forced to leave the area.
Our forces carried out these strong operations in the Resistance Area of the Wounded Cave in the spirit of the Apoyi militia. In these actions 10 invaders were punished, 3 invaders were injured and 2 drones were shot down.
At 09:30 on 17 May, our forces targeted the occupiers around the battle positions of Hewehîd Hewrê in the qadaehîd Şahîn Resistance area and attacked them with sabotage tactics. In this operation, the occupiers’ explosives, which had already been seized by our forces, were used. As a result of this creative action in which our forces used enemy weapons against the enemy, 3 invaders were punished.
At 17:10 on 17 May, a drone was shot down by our YJA Star forces at the Şehid Şahin Resistance Square.
On 17 May, the occupier Turkish state army, which was defeated as a result of the effective actions of our forces, was unable to advance. The Ciyareş resistance was bombed 29 times with chemical weapons and explosives.
MEDIA PROTECTION AREAS BOMBED DOZEN TIMES
The occupying Turkish army bombed the Median Defense Areas dozens of times with warplanes, attack helicopters and obus.
Information about the attacks is as follows:
On 17 May, the areas of Çemço and Şikefta Birindara Zapap were bombed 4 times by warplanes, Amediye Hill and FM Hill by obus from the stations on the border line.
“On May 17, Hakkari Hill and Orte Hill in the Metin area were fired upon by howitzers from checkpoints along the border and bombed six times by warplanes.”
