One of the steps taken on the way to the February 15 conspiracy is the May 6, 1996 assassination. This assassination was not only failed, but was reversed with the action of Martyr Zilan. The ongoing isolation and Imrali process on Leader APO is a plan of the capitalist hegemonic powers, even though it is carried out by the invading Turkish state. Leader APO’s ideas and ideology not only nullify capitalist modernity, but also reveal its alternative. This is why Leader APO is kept in isolation.
On May 6, 1996, an attack was carried out in Damascus with the detonation of a vehicle loaded with a ton of explosives.
On May 6, 1996, an attack was carried out against Leader Apo in Damascus, the capital of Syria, with a truck containing a ton of explosives.
In the attack, Leader Apo and PKK pioneer cadres were targeted.
The intensity of the explosion in the evening was felt even 15 km away.
The attack coincided with both Syria’s liberation day and May 6, when Deniz Gezmiş was executed.
The assassination team of the Turkish state, which had been preparing for a bomb attack in Damascus for a long time, took action on the morning of 6 May 1996. The choice of this day was no coincidence, of course. The leaders of the Turkish revolutionary movement Deniz Gezmiş, Yusuf Aslan and Hüseyin İnan were executed on 6 May 1972.
A vehicle loaded with 1 ton of C4, parked near the Party Central School, where Leader Apo frequently lectures, was detonated at around 10:17 am. Because of the 4th National Conference, the loud sound of the bomb, which was blown up when almost a significant part of the PKK administration was in the academy, was heard all over Damascus, but luckily, Leader Apo and PKK militants survived the attack.
With this attack attempt, the first start of the February 15 Conspiracy was given. Later, the conspiracy plans of Greece, America, England, Italy, Germany, Turkey and many other capitalist-hegomonic powers on the freedom movement and Leader Apo would continue. The sequel would follow to remove Leader Apo from Syria and bring him to Turkey.
However, the PKK turned all developments in their favour, and this plan of the international powers was also unsuccessful.
In response to the assassination that took place, Martyr Zilan (Zeynep Kınacı) will carry out a self-deprecating action in Dersim on June 30, 1996, demonstrating once again that Leader Apo is the will of women, youth and all peoples in the person of the Kurdish people.
