BEHDINAN – HPG Press Liaison Center shared the following details about the actions carried out as part of the Martyr War Maraş Revolutionary Offensive:
“Our forces launched the Martyr War Maraş Revolutionary Move against the invasion operation of the Turkish army in Girê FM and Girê Cûdî Resistance Areas of Zap. In the spirit of the revolutionary move, heavy blows were dealt to the invading Turkish army. As a result of the actions carried out by the semi-mobile teams with the Apoist sacrifice spirit; 22 invaders, 1 of whom had a rank, were punished, 2 invaders were wounded, 1 Skorsky and 2 attack helicopters were hit and 1 jammer device was destroyed. Our valiant YJA Star commander comrade Nalin Fırat, who led the actions in Girê FM Resistance Area, went on the enemy with the spirit of sacrifice and struck heavy blows, reached martyrdom.
The details of the actions carried out within the framework of the Martyr War Maraş Revolutionary Move are as follows:
- May 25 Our forces intervened against the helicopters that wanted to enter Girê FM Resistance Area. In these strikes, 2 attack helicopters were hit. At 00:00, the Skorsky helicopter that wanted to land the invaders in Girê FM was targeted and shot down by our forces. The heavily hit helicopter could not land the invaders and had to leave the area.
- On May 26 at 01:30, the invaders in Girê FM Resistance Area were targeted and shot. In this action, in which individual weapons and assassination tactics were used, 6 invaders were punished. The same night, the occupiers who wanted to position themselves in the area were shot with sabotage tactics. In this action, 3 invaders were punished and 2 invaders were wounded.
- On May 27 at 17:00, the occupiers in Girê FM Resistance Area were targeted with assassination tactics. While 1 invader carrying a jammer device on his back was punished, 1 jammer device was destroyed.
- On May 27 at 01:00, the invaders in Girê FM Resistance Area were targeted with a coordinated guerrilla action. In the coordinated action using individual weapons and assassination tactics, 12 invaders, including 1 with a rank, were punished. Our comrade Nalin Fırat, the pioneering YJA Star commander who punished 12 invaders by going against the enemy with high attack spirit, great courage and sacrifice, reached martyrdom in this action.

Our comrade Nalin Fırat was born in Cizîr, the city of resistance and serhildan in Botan. She grew up with the patriotic culture of the Harûnî tribe and her family. Comrade Nalin, who saw the politics of genocide that his people faced and the inhumane practices of the Turkish state and brought them to consciousness, acted with the awareness of the responsibility that history has placed on his shoulders, like every honorable Kurdish youth.
She stated that it is necessary to struggle to be an honorable and free Kurdish youth in Kurdistan. On this basis, she took part in revolutionary youth activities for 3 years. With her enthusiastic and active personality, she pioneered as a young woman among the youth. She joined the guerrilla ranks in reaction to the attacks launched by the occupying Turkish state in 2015 on the basis of the genocide concept against the Kurdish people. She believed that only through armed struggle could the colonialist genocidal enemy be avenged and a free life be created in this way. He started guerrilla work in the Metîna area and practiced in Girê Hakkarî. She crossed to Sinjar to stop the attacks of ISIS gangs in Sinjar and to eliminate reactionary fascism. There she participated in many actions, took part in moves and drew attention with her high courage. Our comrade Nalin, who mastered many weapons by using them personally during the war, gained great experience. After completing her historical mission in Sinjar, she transferred the self-defense of the sacred mountains of Sinjar and the people of Sinjar to the YBŞ and YJŞ, the valiant sons of the Yazidi people, and moved to the Media Defense Areas. She decided to practice in Garê, Metîna and Zap areas and continue her participation in a sacrificial style. On this basis, she switched to Hêzên Taybet (Special Forces) and decided to participate in the process as the successor of the Zilan’s. Our comrade Nalin, who never remained without a solution with her dynamic and uplifting personality, who could play a role in life and war with her sharp intelligence and practical creativity, became a beloved commander.
As a fedayeen (sacrifice), she played her role and fulfilled her duties under all circumstances, and responded to the enemy attacks in 2022 with a raw spirit. She led the heroic action that dealt an effective blow to the invaders in Girê Resistance Area and reached martyrdom in the clashes that took place during the attack. As comrades, we are very proud to have such a valiant, sacrificial and brave YJA Star commander like our comrade Nalin. We promise that we will definitely realize her dreams by taking the participation, stance, courage and high attack spirit of our fedayeen commander as an example. We believe that all Kurdistan youth and women, especially the youth of Botan, will take the struggle of our comrade Nalin as an example and participate in the process on this basis. We extend our condolences to all the people of Kurdistan, especially to her dear patriotic family and the people of Botan.”
