BEHDÎNAN – The HPG Press and Information Center issued a statement about 5 guerrillas killed in Kato in 2017.
The HPG statement said:
“In April 2017, the occupying Turkish army launched an extensive operation on Mount Kato in Elk. In this operation, the occupiers were fought and in this battle our comrades Raperin, Ruken, Barin, Avaşin and Zinarîn fought heroically and were martyred. On the anniversary of the martyrdom of our martyred comrades, we remember them and we promise that we will give them life in our struggle.

RAPERÎN AMED
Heval Raperin was born in the village of Çemê Alîka in Lice, Diyarbakir and is one of the most patriotic villages in Lice. The enemy has repeatedly oppressed the village of Çemê Alîka, this village has been burnt down but the village has never given up its position. Many martyrs, militants and commanders such as Felat, Ferhat, Sîdar and Dîcleyan rose from the village of Çemê Alîka. Heval Raperin also grew up in such a village, wherever she knew life she saw the reality of the fascist enemy committing genocide against the Kurdish people and she recognized the Kurdistan Freedom Movement. With these feelings and thoughts, he joined the guerrilla ranks in Diyarbakir in 2004. Comrade Raperin has also made a strong contribution to this elimination process. She has trained herself with the paradigms and defenses of the Leader, has deepened herself on the PKK’s line of friendship and the Apoyi line and has always tried to increase her involvement. It has stated that its greatest goal is to become a true militant of the PKK. On this basis she has struggled in many fields from Zap to Zagros, from Qandil to Haftanin and has gained great experience. In the process he was trained at the Martyr Beritan Academy and tried to become a strong YJA Star commander. He has worked for the Central Committee for five years and has fulfilled all his duties. After the central training of our party, she suggested that she go to guerrilla warfare in North Kurdistan and go to Botan. It was here that she quickly got into practice and took charge. She strongly represents PAJK’s standards in person. In the spring of 2017 when the enemy launched an operation on Mount Kato of Elk. In these battles comrade Raperin showed a self-sacrificing attitude and commanded his comrades. He was martyred along with 4 of his female friends in this resistance which lasted for days. Heval Raperin has become such a person that our people in Kurdistan, especially the Alika and Lice rivers, will be proud of her.

Friend Rüken was born in Van to a patriotic family. Her family is from the patriotic Gewda tribe and live a life based on the patriotic line, friend Rüken also recognized the freedom movement as a child. Although she was a successful student in public schools, she had major conflicts within the assimilationist system. This has had a profound effect on comrade Rüken, as the Kurdish People’s Leader has been imprisoned and martyred in the struggle for freedom. Comrade Rüken joined the guerrilla ranks in Van in 2012 as a young man on the line of his dreams. He has made a great effort to make it worthy of the work of Leader Apo as a sailor. He has practiced in the fields of Gare and Haftanin, trained guerrilla warfare in these places and trained himself in the art of war. She received her education in the Succulent School and achieved a high degree in professional guerrilla warfare. With this level and experience he wanted to cross to the North and prepared himself on this basis. In 2015, when the genocidal Turkish state launched a concept of destruction against our people and movement, comrade Rüken crossed into Botan to seek historic revenge. In the practice of Northern guerrilla warfare where the opportunity is limited and the difficulty is high, nothing is seen as an obstacle and it has overcome this obstacle with great sacrifice. She has taken an active part in war and life, fulfilling her responsibilities. During the crucial years of the Revolutionary People’s War in 2015, 2016 and 2017 he held the role of YJA Star Commander. He was martyred in a 2017 operation in Kato with resistance, after a self-sacrificing battle.

Heval Barin was born in Kobanê and grew up in a patriotic culture. The war in the mountains of Kurdistan and the resistance in ralmraliyê of Leader Apo had a great impact on Barin. She recognized her friends Eris and Andok who had sacrificed their lives in 2012 as immortal members of the Immortal Battalion, and this recognition has had an impact on her friend Barin. In 2012, Heval Barin decided to join the guerrilla ranks and reach the mountains of Kurdistan. She has re-established herself in the mountains of Kurdistan and trained herself on the Apoyi line. He fought in many areas from Gare to Qandil, from Maxmur and Kirkuk to Zap. She was educated at the Martyr Beritan Academy in 2015 and trained as a free Kurdish woman on the line of our friend Beritan, who is our immortal commander. In 2016, he moved to North Kurdistan and Botan. The Leader’s statement ‘Women love me, let them give themselves over to Botan’ has taken root and tried to assess this opportunity for guerrilla warfare in Botan. She has made her friends love her with her friendliness, loyalty and joy of life. In the spring of 2017, she became one of the Kurdish women to write and be martyred.

AVAŞÎN ÇIRAV
Heval Avaşin was born in Dih district, where Pengava started on August 15, and her patriotic family called her Serhildan. She grew up in the foothills of the Chirav Mountains in a patriotic family. She has given in to the stereotypes of traditional society and has grown rapidly as a resilient Kurdish woman. The occupier Turkish state has inflicted great cruelty on her family, imprisoned her father and victimized her family. But her family has never bowed its head in the face of the enemy and has maintained its dignity and position despite everything. This attitude of the enemy has increased the anger of his friend Avaşin against the enemy. Heval Avaşin spoke about his involvement in the party with these words ‘The reason for my involvement is that the Turkish state puts pressure on the Kurdish people and the Kurds work as slaves in their system. But the thing that affected me the most was the war in Kobanê. People and fighters fought heroically in the battle of Kobanê. I wanted the occupier Turkish state not to assimilate me, not to join my system. At the same time, I did not allow the blood of our martyred guerrillas to remain on the ground. ‘ joins the guerrilla ranks, sees training of new fighters in Besta and then moves on to the Kato area. She studied guerrilla warfare in Kato and received military training in 2015 at the operation school. He struggles for a while in the traveling teams and then moves back to the Kato area. In the spring of 2017 when the enemy attacks Kato she also joins her comrades fighting against the enemy and is martyred.

ZINARÎN ARJÎN
Heval Zinarîn was born in Farqîn and grew up in a patriotic family. Farqîn gave many of her precious children to the Kurdistan Freedom Fighters and played important roles in the uprisings. Heval Zinarîn, like all young Kurds, has grown angry with the genocidal Turkish state system and has risen up against the system’s assimilation policies. To have been involved in the freedom struggle has always been in search. She did not grow this dream alone and tried to include her sisters and relatives in the guerrilla ranks. In 2015, 3 members of the same family joined the guerrilla ranks. Heval Zinarîn started his revolutionary life in Botan on the basis of his connection with Leader Apo. Has taken part in the self-help teams of female friends and has toured many areas of Botany. She has worked in every field of Bestay, has played a role in activities and preparation activities. She was wounded in an enemy attack in 2016 and 5 of her friends were martyred along with her. After this attack her attachment to the martyrs and her anger against the enemy increased. She has gained a lot of experience from what has happened to her and has strengthened her military personality. In the spring of 2017, when the enemy launched an occupier operation, Comrade Zinarîn also demanded an account from the enemy and was martyred after a heroic battle. The attitude, participation and martyrdom of our friend Zinarîn will be an example for all the youth of Kurdistan, especially the youth of Amed.
