BEHDİNAN – HPG Press Center shared the following details in a written statement regarding the Turkish state’s invasion attacks and guerrilla resistance:
“The invading Turkish army has carried out intense land and air bombardments against the Medya Defense Areas for months. The bombardments, which have increased in recent days, have intensified in Avaşîn and Zap regions, especially between 14 and 17 April. An invasion attack was launched by the Turkish army towards Avaşin and Zap regions on 17 April in the evening. According to this;
In Avaşîn region;
On April 17, at around 19:00, the invaders landed 8 times with helicopters in the Werxelê area of Avaşîn region. At the same time, attack helicopters heavily bombarded this area. Our forces intervened with heavy weapons against these drops. Our forces also targeted and shot the invaders with individual weapons. The invaders, who were hit, landed once in the village of Werxelê with the support of attack helicopters and removed the dead and wounded.
At 01:30 at night, the invaders who wanted to settle on Werxelê Hill were intervened with individual and medium automatic weapons. Here, 2 invaders were punished. Warplanes bombarded this area at 02:45. At 03:10 at night, the invaders who wanted to advance in the Werxelê area were targeted and hit with sabotage tactics. As a result of this action, 8 invaders were punished.
At 03:40, an invading group that wanted to take up positions in the Werxele area was targeted and shot with individual weapons, 2 invaders were punished and 3 invaders were injured. The enemy retreated one level after this action.
At 04:20 in the morning, while the invaders were trying to settle in the Werxelê area, they were shot once again and forced to retreat one level. At 05:00 in the morning, 1 invader who tried to take up position was targeted and punished with the assassination tactic. Clashes between our forces and the invaders who want to settle on Werxelê Hill at 09:40 today still continue.
In the Zap region;
The invading Turkish army heavily bombed Kurojahro, Şikefta Birîndara, Ertuş, Şehîd Şahin, Karker and Çiyareş areas with warplanes and howitzers from April 14 to April 17. On April 17, the invaders launched a comprehensive invasion attack in all of these areas with the support of attack helicopters and drones.
The invaders tried to land with Skorsky helicopters by bombing the Çiyayê Reş, Ertuş, Şikefta Birîndara and Werxelê areas of the Zap region from the Bakure Kurdistan border with attack helicopters. Our forces intervened in the helicopters trying to land, and many enemy helicopters had to retreat before they could land. An attack helicopter that wanted to land in the Girê Martyr Shahîn area was hit and hit by our forces.
Attack helicopters belonging to the invading Turkish army and Skorsky-type helicopters took off from the Sîlopî district of Şirnex and flew over the KDP-controlled Bamernê, Amediye, Derelok areas and attacked the Kurojahro area of the Zap region. The helicopters that wanted to land in the Kurojahro region encountered the intervention of our forces and could not land. The invaders, who were able to land once on Girê Martyr Amargî in the Kurojahro area, were taken under control by our YJA Star forces, targeted and shot with individual weapons, and 3 invaders were punished here. Again in the same place, a group of invaders were targeted and shot with sabotage tactics and 4 invaders were punished. Our YJA Star forces punished a total of 7 invaders in both actions.
THE OCCUPATION ATTACK IS DONE WITH THE APPROVAL AND SUPPORT OF KDP
The Turkish army’s attempt to invade the Kurojahro area, which is the back side of the Zap region and falls to the south, by flying its helicopters from within the borders of Bashure Kurdistan, proves that the KDP approved this invasion plan and gave way. It is clear that the Turkish army would not have dared to stab the guerrilla in this area in the back if KDP did not have such approval and partnership. At the same time, the invading Turkish forces wanted to set out from the Sîre base under the control of KDP forces in the town of Sheladize and proceed by land to settle in the Kurojahro area. Our forces targeted these forces and stopped their advance. An intense movement of KDP forces towards the Dêrelok, Şêladizê and Barzan lines was observed at night.
The invaders, who were landed in Kevirêkun area in Şikefta Birîndara area by helicopter twice at 21:00, were taken under control by our forces. It has been clarified that 5 of these invaders who were hit effectively were punished. Unable to hold on here, the invaders retreated towards Kaniya Skorsky. At 22:00, the occupiers who wanted to advance were targeted and shot once again, it was determined that 3 occupants were punished and 6 occupants were injured. After these actions, Şikefta Birîndara area was bombed 4 times by planes. Our forces intervened in the attack helicopters that bombarded the Şikefta Birîndara area towards the morning hours, and as a result, the helicopters had to leave the area.
The invading Turkish army and helicopters, which wanted to land with helicopters, were intervened in the Werxelê area in the Zap region. The invaders who wanted to advance by land on the Çiyareş line were targeted and hit twice with sabotage tactics. The invaders who were hit here had to retreat. Detailed information will be shared later.
2 attack helicopters that wanted to enter the Çemço area were targeted by our forces. 1 attack helicopter was heavily hit and had to leave the area.
Our forces interfered with helicopters that wanted to fly over the Bamernê-Amediye-Dêrelok line again in the morning to attack Kurojahro and land. 2 attack helicopters and 1 Skorsky type helicopter had to leave the area.
In just the last 4 days, our areas have been bombed 147 times with warplanes and countless times from land with howitzers. SİHA and warplane movement over our areas continues uninterrupted. The resistance developed by our forces with the spirit of sacrifice defeated the first wave of attacks against Avaşîn and the Zap region. In the actions of our forces so far, 28 invaders have been punished, 9 invaders were injured and 2 attack helicopters were hit.
The heroic resistance of our forces and the clashes continue intensely.”
