BEHDİNAN – Karayılan stated that they are just at the beginning of a historical war to be experienced and said, “The way of our people’s existence, the way of their future, the way of freedom of our people passes through here. Whatever the cost, we will give it. We believe in ourselves, we will defeat this enemy,” he said.
Karayılan asked especially the people of Southern Kurdistan not to leave them alone in this process, as in 2008, and called out to all the people: “This period is an extraordinary period; Every Kurd should take risks and do whatever he can.”
Member of the PKK Executive Committee answered ANF’s questions regarding the Turkish state’s attack on the Medya Defense Areas that started on April 17 and the cooperation of the KDP.
As of the night of 17 April, the Turkish state carried out a comprehensive attack on Medya Defense Zones. What is the purpose of this attack?
First of all, it should be noted that; These attacks of the enemy are not an ordinary attack. The Turkish state has been acting with a new concept since 2016, based on a strategy. The aim of this strategy is; According to them, in order to prevent the Kurdistan freedom struggle, Turkey should not shrink and they decided to enlarge Turkey. In this framework, they aimed to bring the borders of the National Pact under their control in military, political, economic and all fields. At the same time, they want to take Iraq and Syria under their control, not by a direct invasion. In this way, they aim to implement the Neo-Ottomanism program and to make Turkey the largest state in the region. This is the essence of their concept. On this basis they have been fighting us for a long time. They are attacking the Kurdish people not only in the military, but also in the political, social and cultural fields, in every field. They are inflicting a torture on Rêber Apo that is unprecedented in the world. They take everything in an extraordinary way and come at us.
As it is known, they aimed to occupy the regions where the guerrilla is located in Southern Kurdistan, or in other words, the Medya Defense Areas, in 2021. For this reason, they attacked Garê while the snow was still on the ground. known; They were defeated at that time. Later, they carried out extensive attacks on Zap, Avaşîn and Metîna. They set themselves the task of occupying this place and reaching Garê and Kandil from there. They aimed to occupy every place within the framework of a three-month plan. However, they were defeated, defeated and their plans did not work. Maybe they captured a few hills in some areas, but the guerrilla put up a great resistance and were defeated once again.
THEY DIDN’T GET THE 2021 DEATH, THEY ARE IN THE DEADLINE
We knew that the Turkish state could not easily digest this. This strategy needs to be realized in line with the task undertaken by the genocidal fascist AKP-MHP government. However, they failed to do so and are heading towards collapse. It’s getting weaker every day. They have one more year and the government itself is in favor of this strategy being successful. Because of this, they devised new, more comprehensive attacks.
No doubt we knew. We are constantly following the enemy; they were training their forces, they were training their soldiers, they were once again preparing regional forces diplomatically and politically. They also made preparations so that no one from the international powers would oppose and support them. In short, the Turkish state was secretly and in a wide range of preparations both in the diplomatic and military fields. The attacks on 17 April started within this framework.
A BIG WAR, NOT OPERATION
In fact, it would be more accurate to say that it started on April 14, because before that, the airstrikes lasted for 3 days and these areas were bombed. In military literature, this is called “softening”. Air strikes took place to soften the targets. Then, on the night connecting 17 to 18 April, they attacked from both the south and north directions. They also launched a comprehensive invasion attack using the airborne method. This is not an operation, this is a great war. No country can fight each other so easily. I do not believe that there are such fronts even in Ukraine, that there can be a point where there is constant war. This is a great war. The genocidal Turkish state had used technology and chemical weapons before. However, when we look at the current one, we see that he gives more weight to the technique. When you look; It simultaneously flies helicopters, warplanes, reconnaissance planes, attacks from the land and fires howitzers from the border outposts. In short, they aim at constant bombardment and absolute occupation.
IT WILL BE EVEN BIGGER
The areas they are currently attacking are not ordinary areas either. Zap and Avaşîn are places of historical resistance. Our people and everyone should know that; The war will intensify. They resort to technique without limit and they want to get results in this way. However, our friends have enough experience. Especially in the last year, experience has been gained in shooting and shooting the enemy underground and aboveground, and protecting himself. Because of this, a historical war will take place.
We are at the beginning now; The war has been going on for two days, we will enter the third day. We sent letters to friends and congratulated them. The first days are very important in every process. Friends were also successful in these early days, so we congratulated and greeted them. Of course, the enemy is conducting a special war, he says, we have taken the places we aimed and only one of our lieutenants died, but the truth is not like that. It seems that the enemy gives the most weight to technology and propaganda in this war. He wants to deceive the public and create a perception in Turkish society by never telling the truth. Undoubtedly, this war is important for the fascist genocidal regime. For them, this is a vital issue. If Erdogan and Bahceli lose this war, they will not only lose, but they will also end up in prison. They have been involved in so much theft and crime that they will not be able to avoid prosecution. For this reason, they have mobilized all the possibilities of Turkey. They have done their best both internally and externally to be successful by taking risks, and they will continue to do so.
A STRATEGIC WAR FOR THE KURDISH PEOPLE
This war is not only the war of the PKK and the Turkish state. Some circles say the opposite. No, there is a big mistake here. This war is being waged on the basis of a strategy. It is true that the primary target of this strategy is the PKK, but the PKK is not the only target. There are other goals as well. The Kurdish people have goals that will liquidate all their gains. After that, they will be able to influence the Arab people and gain power in the region by controlling them. They will be able to influence not only the mountains of Kurdistan, but also Hewler and Baghdad. Undoubtedly, the first target is the PKK, but in fact, the gains of the Kurdish people are aimed. Therefore, this war is strategic for the Kurdish people, it is a life and death war for the Kurdish people.
They came to Çelê (Çukurca) 6 years ago, in 2016, and said, “This war is a life-or-death war and a war for Turkey’s independence.” Yes, maybe this is the case for Turkey, because they are not that ignorant. But we also know that this is a life-or-death battle for us. We say this not only for the PKK, but also for the Kurdish people. If these are successful, they will bring the whole of Kurdistan under the policy of genocide. Other than that, they can’t afford that much.
DEATH IS A MATTER OF LIFE
They spent most of Turkey’s wealth in this war. Why are the people of Turkey hungry now? Turkey is a rich country, but they invested all their income in the war, secretly or openly. Now they say to them, ‘You spent so much but you didn’t earn,’ and they will start investigations about them. Therefore, fascist Erdoğan and Bahçeli must be successful against us in order to maintain their rule and strengthen the dominance of the fascist system in Kurdistan. This is important to them. But for us this is much more important; because it is a matter of life and death. This is important for our people, for the Arab people, and for the people of the region. They are chasing dreams of neo-Ottomanism and they are not listening to anyone. They want to return to Ottoman lands once again. This is not such a secret plan. Don’t they say every day about Kirkuk, “It was actually ours, but they took it from us”? They have a plan, if not, what are their soldiers looking for in Bashika right now? Why is he making such preparations in Kirkuk? It is clear that if their strategy works, the Kurdish status will be endangered and disappear. To please the KDP officials, they call them “you are the Kurdish administration”. Where are you the Kurdish administration? They use the phrase ‘Kurdish Administration of Northern Iraq’ or ‘Prime Minister of the Kurds of Northern Iraq’. They do not recognize the Kurds either inside or outside of Turkey. They don’t even know Kurdistan at all. That’s their truth. They organized themselves with this concept and this war continues on this basis.
Our people should know that; We consider this process as an extraordinary process. In other words, it is a mobilization, everyone should do their best in everything. Because we are going through a very important and critical period, it is very, very sensitive. We must break this wave of the enemy’s attack. If this is broken, a new era will begin in Kurdistan, Turkey and the region, a solution will develop, freedom and democracy will develop. In this sense, this resistance is the resistance to democracy and freedom, the resistance of the Kurdish people to exist, the freedom resistance of the Kurdish people, the democracy resistance of the peoples of the region.
What is the role and mission of the KDP in these attacks? To what extent does the KDP participate in this operation?
Yes, this issue is also important. Last year, the KDP supported and backed this strategy of Turkey. He had a collaboration. How did he run this? He surrounded the guerrilla and embargoed it. On the other hand, he went to intelligence sharing and worked with intelligence organizations. Apart from that, they set up an ambush on the guerrilla line. They attacked twice in Xelîfan, which led to the martyrdom of the guerrilla. Last year, a collaboration took place within this framework. But it seems that Turkey is not satisfied with this, they held meetings with KDP officials at the highest level for this. It seems that this year, the KDP went one step further in these latest attacks. So it went a little further than last year.
IT IS A DANGEROUS SITUATION FOR KDP
Now, when we say this, we are not slandering the KDP. Maybe KDP officials do not say this, but this is the truth. The Turkish state itself explains this in every meeting with the Turkish state. For example, they met with Hulusi Akar, the enemy of the Kurdish people, in Munich, Germany. Afterwards, Hulusi Akar said, “We agree on all issues and the PKK issue, we have ensured our partnership.” Likewise, Erdogan has said the same things many times. Finally, we checked, they are in talks. When there was a meeting, first the air attack and then the ground attack started. It’s not such a secret thing. We do not want them to have such an anti-Kurdish relationship against us. I don’t know what will be the end of this. It is true that they have not engaged in combat with the guerrilla so far, but since yesterday they have been gathering their strength; They are reinforcing their forces in regions such as Dêrelok and Şêladizê. What will they do? What will happen? We do not know whether this will evolve into another stage, we do not have information about it. Of course, there is a dangerous situation. In order to avoid a direct conflict so far; Sometimes, when there is a contact, we have made many attempts so that this Kurdish does not have a war with the Kurds. I can personally say this; I’ve worked hard for this and this is how our whole administration worked. We have always wanted to prevent it and now we are trying to prevent it.
THE KURDISH-KURDISH WAR IS THE TURKISH STATE’S PROJECT
When our friends and YBŞ members were martyred when they attacked in Shengal and Xanesor in 2017, there was pressure on us to ‘counter-attack’, but our administration stopped it. Had it been left to the friends there, they would have launched a comprehensive counterattack. Then, in the autumn of 2020, they sent a large force to the Zêbarî region. There were friends in the hills over there. We saw that there would be a conflict, they opened fire from time to time, but we withdrew the friends from there. The public knows better; Last year, on June 5, a great power came to the hills of Metîna with the intention of war, there was a short contact and conflict ensued. The troops there did not settle on those hills with their own forces; we withdrew our own forces. Why? Because in order not to experience the war between the Kurds and the Kurds. There is no good in this, no one will win. This is the project of the Turkish state.
The aim of the Turkish state is to turn this war into a Kurdish-Kurdish war and to be successful in its project in this way. We don’t want such a thing to happen. But everything has a limit. For this, our people, Kurdish patriots, Kurdish politicians, intellectuals and artists must take responsibility for themselves. This is not how it goes. We are a self-sacrificing force, we have no fear of anyone. We do not want this to turn into a Kurdish-Kurdish war. In short, this is how it is.
THEY TAKE THE COOPERATION A STEP FURTHER
Do you have relations with the KDP? If yes, at what level?
In fact, the Turkish state was defeated by the great resistance we put up in Avaşîn last autumn. Undoubtedly, the Turkish state is not a small state; he uses so much technology, he uses chemical weapons, but despite this he could not achieve success. Frankly, I was hoping that Kek Mesud could change his mind, and I sent him a letter for this purpose. Thank you very much, he replied. But there was no solution in his answer. The important thing for us is the solution, there was no solution in it.
When we look at it now, they have taken their cooperation with the Turkish state one step further. How did they take it forward? For example, they allowed the forces of the Turkish state in Southern Kurdistan to leave their places and attack our forces from the south. Since the Turkish state could not land their forces there from the air on the first day, they mobilized their forces at the Sîre base, located behind Sheladize. Likewise, they dispatched the forces in Bamerne by helicopter. This shows that they are taking their cooperation further. Undoubtedly, this is happening with the approval of the KDP. Previously, these internal forces were collecting intelligence and working for their states, but they did not intend to intervene actively or become an operational force. I believe there is an agreement between them that the forces there cannot act without their permission. Now that the forces are moving, it means that they have also approved it. This issue is important to us. Why? Because this situation will give the Turkish state a great opportunity when it blocks the guerrilla from both the south and the north. The fact that the forces at the Sîre base left their place and moved from the south provided an important opportunity for the Turkish state to get results in this attack. In this way, they plan to encircle the guerrilla from all sides. We didn’t think something like this could happen. However, this is the practical answer.
KDP SHOULD NOT BACK TURKEY’S RACIST STRATEGY
We say this; This strategy of the Turkish state is an anti-Kurdish strategy. The KDP should not support this or cooperate with this strategy. What interests they have in this business, we do not know. But the danger for the future of the Kurds is growing. Because they want to settle in the strategic place of Kurdistan. The Turkish state does not leave the place it entered, they openly say this in their own media. They spend millions and make roads, no one can get them out of there anymore. So why are they doing this? Maybe they can say, “They are coming because there is PKK”. I also say this; don’t support, let’s see if they can come
There was a similar discussion last year. We said that the enemy cannot occupy the Zap, Metina and Avaşîn lines. In practice, we upheld that promise, didn’t we? We are not making propaganda, we are speaking with the weight of this burden. I am not exaggerating here with cheap propaganda. I am face to face with the truth. We can defeat this enemy. In short, the KDP should stop supporting this racist strategy of Turkey. This strategy of the Turkish state is against all Kurds.
KDP CUTS OFF THE BRANCH
The PKK is a great guarantor for Southern Kurdistan, for the federation of Southern Kurdistan. This is a great truth. If the PKK did not exist, the Turkish state would not have a federation. Without the PKK, the Republic of Turkey would never meet with a Kurdish leader, and it has never confronted him. Now there is the PKK, and the PKK is a threat to them. They talk to everyone because of the fear of the PKK. One should see this and take it into account. You continue to support and the PKK weakens, let’s see if they even say hello to you then. We know very well that they will not. We are all next, they put the PKK first because they see it as the most dangerous for them. They want to liquidate the PKK, then it will be everyone’s turn, they are against the Kurdish status. Two months ago, Hulusi Akar was not in a secret place, he said in the parliament: “There is no place called Kurdistan, neither inside Turkey nor outside Turkey.” They are waging this war for this purpose, and they have prepared their strategies accordingly.
You know, there are Nasreddin Hodja jokes in Turkey; You know, he wants to cut down the tree, but he cuts the branch he is on and falls to the ground. The situation of the KDP is exactly the same. He wants to cut down the tree of life and of course he will suffer from it. The truth is just that. We want them out of this situation. I do not know what initiatives are necessary for this, but we are sensitive. However, Bashur and Rojava need to see the dangers that await them. Kurdish politicians also need to see these dangers and take a stand.
So how do you evaluate the stance of the people of Southern Kurdistan?
The people of Bashure Kurdistan paid a great price; passed through the anfal. Just a few days ago, it was Anfal’s anniversary. Many massacres and genocides were carried out on the people. It is a patriotic people and has a lot of sacrifice. In this regard, we have respect for the people of Bashure Kurdistan. For example, there was an operation in Zap in 2008. At that time, we saw that the Turkish state wanted to move from Bamernê, from Amediye, but the people of Bamernê and Amediye came in front of the tanks and did not allow the guerrilla to be surrounded. Our Bashur people also played a role in that Zap victory. What happened? The Turkish state was defeated, until that time, the relationship with Bashure Kurdistan was their red line. They had to, they removed that red line and they hooked up a year after that. So if it wasn’t for that Zap victory in 2008, maybe they wouldn’t have had that relationship. Once again, the people of Sheladize heroically marched to protest the Turkish state, and they raided and burned their base, with their spirit and courage. In fact, our Bashur people should be strong-willed against the Turkish state occupation, they should stand up of their own will. Now there is a need for such a situation against Turkey.
So the attitude of the people is good. As far as we can see, everyone except the KDP is against Turkey’s invasion attack and this situation. In other words, the politics in Bashure Kurdistan are not limited to the KDP. However, as far as we see and hear right now, all other forces are against it. Because everything is obvious, there is nothing hidden, the Kurdish people have no interests. The Turkish state is walking on the basis of Turanism. The chauvinist, nationalist wing is very strong in him. Who is the gardener? He is the enemy of the Kurdish people. Hulusi, who waged this war one-on-one, has only one feature; Hostility to the Kurdish people! In other words, how it relates to them, one cannot really make sense of it. I myself have a hard time understanding it. How can he be a Kurd, that is, a collaborator; The Turkish state has eliminated whoever cooperated with them in its history. Take Dersim, for example. Not all tribes clashed in Dersim. Five tribes clashed. Other tribes were mostly with the state. However, after the resistance was broken, all of Dersim was exiled. And it was massacred. The same goes for Serhat. In other words, this state has a style, has a history; one should not be surprised. That is, one should not associate with them too much. Especially wrong things against each other… So we have not been against the Southern government’s relations with Turkey or the KDP’s relations with Turkey until now. What are we up against? We were against the calculations made against the Kurds. In other words, it is conducting an operation against the Kurds. He calls it an operation, but in reality he is on their side in the war.
I believe that all our people of Bashure Kurdistan are aware of this. I say once again; do not leave us alone. Let them show their solidarity with every style, opportunity. The patriotism of both our Behdinan people and our Soran people is deep. So we see, we know very well. I have been in Behdinan for years, I stayed in Kandil for years. I know the people very well. His truth is pure and honest. So we believe that everyone is against the current situation.
WE WANT TWO THINGS
In other words, the media close to the KDP are talking too much; “The villagers cannot go to their villages, the villagers are being harmed,” he said. It is true, we are aware of it. In fact, there are more than thirty martyrs so far. They are our martyrs. But one should also know that; only in Zap, Rêkan, Nêrweyi have evacuated the villagers. Sinûnê villages have not been built yet, and the villages around Duhok have not been built either. Each village either has a house or does not. Why? People should question their own politics. War is not the only reason why villagers do not build their villages. War is a cause, it’s true. But there is a general problem. Another is the Turkish state is attacking. We must take a harmonious attitude towards this common enemy. Then people can resist. Then foreign powers, international powers react. If a sovereign Kurdish power approves of these attacks, these barbaric attacks appear ordinary. That’s why we are happy with the public. We also have hope in this regard. As I said, our people should consider themselves responsible. In other words, this process should not turn into a Kurdish-Kurdish war. Everyone should take a stand against it. The peshmerga, especially the KDP supporters, who have worked hard in this regard, should see this trend. I have a call to them. I have hope. It shouldn’t be like that, everyone should evaluate their environment and take an attitude. The situation is really getting worse. What do we want? Two things:
- The war should not turn into a Kurdish-Kurdish war.
- KDP should end the Turkish state’s anti-Kurdish cooperation. Let go of this policy.
This is what we want. And this should be the wish of every patriotic Kurd. This is what I will say in this regard.
WE WANT TO PROTECT THE VALUES OF THESE PEOPLE
You stated that you have expectations from the people of Southern Kurdistan. What are your expectations from the people and friends of Kurdistan, both in the South and in general?
These were for our people of Bashure Kurdistan. However, we have expectations from all the people of Kurdistan. Now we are waging a legitimate war. How many years have we been in Zap? And now the Turkish occupation wants to come and occupy and settle there. In this way, Bashure wants to dominate Kurdistan. And we are resisting it. And this resistance is not ordinary. So we give our lives. Every second, every minute the bomb goes off. There are air and ground attacks. So we are fighting this enemy. Anyone with a little conscience should support us. So look, this enemy has a tank, he has a gun, he has a helicopter, he has a reconnaissance plane, he has all kinds of devices, he has every weapon; attacking us. He brought tens of thousands of soldiers. There is no equality in between. He is attacking us and we want to defend ourselves. It’s not just about self-defense; We want to protect the values of these people.
Attacks against us are not only in Zap; The biggest attack is on our Leader in Imrali right now. Our Leader has been under torture for 24 years. Ten thousand of our friends are now in the dungeon, some of them lost their lives in the dungeon. There is a great cruelty on us, it is on our people. We are resisting this enemy. We rightly say that nobody should cooperate with this enemy and help us. What kind of gain do we have? So we are not fighting for money or goods. Now I have come to this life, I have nothing personal but my gun! Rêber Apo is 73 years old, he has nothing personal. Here are Kurdish young men and women who leave their universities and come to Zap to resist. Isn’t that a source of pride for humanity? There is spirituality here, there is value here. One should help, if you can’t help, at least don’t help the enemy. In other words, we expect this in a justified way. You asked about the expectation; we expect this.
WE GAVE OUR LIFE FOR BAŞURÊ KURDISTAN
For whom and what are we fighting? We are fighting for this people, for the future of this people. And we die every day. If there was no great cause, holy cause, the cause of our people’s existence and freedom, and the freedom and democracy cause of the region; we can pack our bags and go somewhere else. But now we say that we must be strong-willed and fight against this enemy. Even if we give our lives, we should not bend our necks. We must not leave the square empty for the enemy, so that the enemy does not occupy our land, the holy land, or occupy Bashure Kurdistan. We are giving our lives for Bashure Kurdistan. Everyone should know that if the enemy is victorious in this breakthrough, it is Bashure Kurdistan itself that will be most in danger.
IF YOU ARE NOT SUPPORTING, BE OBJECTIVE
So, I invite you once again in this regard. Everyone should think again. In other words, why are Kurdish youth, girls and men resisting in these mountains? In whose interest are they resisting? This is in the interest of the people, democracy and freedom. What else is it? If a person does not have one hundred percent faith, he cannot stand there even for 24 hours, 24 minutes. Come on, let’s see, who can go and stand there? Kurojahro is across the cities, people can go out and see, how is life there? Or how is Shikefta in Birîndara? In other words, man is first of all conscientious. There is an unequal war. One side is fighting with its gun and bomb, the other side is using all kinds of techniques and planes. He uses all kinds of weapons, poisons. In other words, people support those who fight with that kelle and bomb. Even without support, it should be neutral. We want the KDP forces to be neutral and follow us. So they should not take any side, they should follow us. I mean, let them block our way from here and there, it won’t happen like this. So we didn’t come from the sky. We’ve been here for years. So far, there has been an agreement between us in 82 and an agreement between us in 95. We shared our bread together, visited each other, so much happened. So now the enemy has come upon us and we have been here all these years. Just take a look, what are we doing?
WE WILL DEFEAT THE ENEMY
And we believe in ourselves, we will defeat this enemy. We will resist and win in our own ways and methods, with our wisdom and faith in Rêber Apo’s ideology! With the tactics and depth we created, the performance we showed last year is the badge of our victory. We can win. The enemy had too many weapons, too many techniques, too many soldiers… We believe in ourselves. We want to fight. We don’t want to get out of there. We want to defeat the enemy, it is a claim! If you don’t believe it, that too is an allegation. We are not children. We have been in this business for so many years, we are in this politics. We are not ignorant, we have read tons of books. No one has lost their mind. We know that the way of our people’s existence, the way of their future, the way of freedom of our people passes through here. Whatever the cost, we will give it. We will give our lives if necessary. We are fighting this love and this belief today. And we are right.
DON’T LET THE KURDISH-KURDISH WAR HAPPEN!
To those who represent the conscience of this people; We call on artists, writers and real politicians. We call on all the people of Kurdistan; support us. Do not let the war turn into a Kurdish-Kurdish war, stop it. We are in a historical period, we believe in ourselves and we say that we will win in this historical period.
Against the barbarian enemy, we, as Kurdish youth and girls, are fighting in these mountains with iron will and great courage. Now we send congratulations. These two days, friends are writing epic. It is not an easy thing, it is something new in Kurdistan. Both the way-method is new in the method of war, as well as the volitional stance and belief are new. There have been bouncers. This country has had the bodyguards, so this country will win. No force, tank or cannon can break this will. Therefore, we say; This country’s intellectuals, artists, politicians, all patriots of this country! We know, they are on the streets every day in Europe, I greet them. Our people are on the move in all parts of Kurdistan, they are in search of it. I greet them all. But we should know that this is an extraordinary period and everyone should do whatever they want. I’m not saying, stand up against someone. I say, stand up and move so that the Kurd does not shoot the Kurd. Empower each other. Now, in this period, our people must decide for themselves. And so it can prevent wrong situations. Kurdish intellectuals and Kurdish artists should put their hands to work, come out and have the initiative. They should avoid the wrong situations. So that’s our call for everyone. No one should remain silent against this historical period; everyone should take responsibility for himself, according to the conditions of his place, and believe us. Because we will stick to our promise. We may not be able to do everything, but there are things we can do. And we are totally determined on this issue. We will give the necessary answer against this enemy.
IRAQ IS ATTACKING WITH THE TURKISH GOVERNMENT
According to the information received, Iraqi army forces are attacking Shengal security forces and it is stated that there are hot clashes at the moment. What does this attack mean? Why did such an attack take place in such a process?
We also follow the media. Sometimes we can’t follow the press, but it was an opportunity, we followed a little bit. In fact, people are surprised. In other words, there should be no Iraqi state or Turkish soldiers in Shengal. The Yazidi people have passed 74 edicts so far. And he was left alone. Iraqi soldiers were also there, they left them alone. Now the people’s belief in these forces has weakened, and they want to create their own power. Why are they making this a target, one cannot understand. In other words, all of this is happening with the encouragement of the Turkish state.
Here they are building a wall. Against whom is the wall being built? Between whom are they knitting? In other words, it seems that the Iraqi state is wrong in these matters. Especially after Mustafa Kazimi became prime minister, the Iraqi government has been experiencing a lot of inadequacy in the representation of the Iraqi people, the Arab people. For example, the Iraqi government officially told the Turkish state before Kazimi, “Bashika must be evacuated”. The Turkish state did not even take it into account. He did not evacuate, he increased his troops there. You saw that the Turkish state killed two Iraqi generals before that. Our vehicle was in the front, they did not hit our vehicle. They deliberately hit the official military vehicle of Iraq. So what did Kazimi do against Turkey? Then he went before Erdoğan and stood like a soldier. In other words, it is clear that the will of the Iraqi people is not represented. President, Sadr again showed his own reactions. These are important things for the representation of the Iraqi people. Good stuff, no doubt. But why doesn’t the prime minister make a statement? Well, that’s the actual practice, isn’t it? It really surprises people. For example, how does he shoot Yazidis and carry out operations against Yazidis? This is not unity.
WE NEED A SMART STAND
We are always on the side of the Yazidi people. The PKK is not there, but we support them and we are always with them. They have the right to establish public order and to defend themselves. Be it the state. This is a legitimate thing. My call to the Iraqi state is this: be sensible and solve the existing problems through dialogue. The army, which did not exist when there was ISIS, wants to carry out an operation against the Yazidi people who were liberated from the clutches of ISIS. This is not true. I hope my sanity comes to the fore. Any problem can be solved with dialogue, peace is established in Shengal. This is what is most needed at this time. This is my hope and expectation. The Yazidi force YBŞ and the Yazidi Asayish forces there are legitimate and we support them. But to say as if the PKK is leading them all is a lie of the Turkish state. No one should believe that either. A realistic approach should come to the fore. We hope that this issue will be resolved through dialogue.

The war that exists between us and the Turkish occupation has reached its peak. Of course they want to beat us, and we want to beat them. Therefore, it is an important period.
EVERY KURDISH YOUTH MUST PLAY A ROLE
All patriots, all Kurds should definitely play a role in this period. They should uphold their patriotic duty. Especially Bakure Kurdistan, Kurdish youth and libertarian women should not pass this period silently. Our people should not remain silent against the fascist Turkish policy, this murderous policy. Especially Kurdish youth can do any kind of action in Turkey, in metropolises. They have initiative. Let them not say that there are no weapons; There are weapons. They can find it for themselves. A lighter is also a weapon, there are all kinds of weapons. Therefore, everyone should definitely do something. Our people are slaughtered in the dungeon, the guards torture them every day. Here they are torturing our young people. On this occasion, we commemorate all dungeon martyrs. I bow my head before their memory. But we must rise up against oppression. We must not be silent in the face of oppression. When you are silent against the persecution, you become a part of it. Therefore, people should be against this oppression. It should be against injustice. There is injustice, people should be against it. My call is this, especially to Kurdish youth, be an activist in this important period. Either carry out your action where you are or come to the guerrilla ranks. This is our call. In this historical period, every Kurdish youth must play his role and bring himself to the guerrilla ranks.
EVERY KURDISH SHOULD TAKE RISK THIS PERIOD
The guerrilla is playing a historical role today, playing a strategic role. If there is no guerrilla, there is no power to stand in front of this enemy. He wants to put these people through genocide. Therefore, in this period, everyone should mobilize and organize within himself; no one should wait for special instructions, staff. In every neighbourhood, people can organize themselves; it can transform itself into power, committee, will, power of action. Participating power, participatory power; this is important.
There is also a great resistance. Once again, I wholeheartedly greet my friends who move like lions in this war and fire. Honestly, we’re in this business, and I’m in charge. But these friends, Kurdish women-sons, are living the Agitation before our eyes with the spirit of sacrifice. It is a very, very big sacrifice. It is a great ore. We will definitely get results on the basis of this ore. This period is important, we will put our hands under it during this period. We take risks. During this period, people should take risks. This applies to me; It applies to all cadres, servans, commanders, all patriots. But it is also valid for every Kurd. In order to make this year a great year, everyone must make the necessary sacrifices during this period.
This year, we celebrated the 50th anniversary of Newroz. A high spirit was revealed. As a continuation of this, we must make 2022 the year of great march with the spirit of Newroz fire and the spirit of Zap resistance. We should make it a freedom march year. This is my call to everyone, they should join in this direction, once again I greet everyone wholeheartedly.
