BEHDÎNAN – Duran Kalkan stated that the main task is to be organized on the basis of the reality of the people and said, “For this, professional guerrilla resistance forces and local resistance forces must be self-defense forces in all four parts of Kurdistan so that the whole community is included. They must be strengthened, trained and organized at the required level. Those who understand these tasks correctly, plan and understand them in practice will definitely succeed. ”
PKK Executive Committee member Duran Kalkan analyzed the level of Turkish nation-state fascism and the war between global powers and outlined the tasks facing the Kurdish people and the Freedom Movement in order to take the victory step. Duran Kalkan’s article was published on the PKK’s website. The text reads as follows:
“Turkey is going through a process in which conflicts and social wars have intensified. One can call this the process of overthrowing the fascism of the AKP and the MHP. Against us is the reality of the enemy who has entered into a deep destruction.
In this case, all the oppressed and workers in all four parts of Kurdistan, among the peoples of the Middle East and in the world, are hoping for the PKK. According to the universal character of the 3rd birth of the Leader our movement has identified itself with humanity. It has created excitement and excitement wherever it has reached. Gives morale and strength to all individuals and leads them to struggle. This creates a great deal of anticipation. Everyone who is aware of the PKK, the Kurdistan Freedom Movement and knows the truth about Leader Apo, has entered into a great anticipation. As the Kurdistan Revolution grows, triumphs, and transforms the Kurdistan Revolution into a Democratic Revolution in the Middle East, people will look forward to the outcome of the Democratic Revolution. In order for people to respond to these expectations, we must perfectly obey the command of the Leader and the martyrs.
A LITTLE WAS BUILT AT THE 50TH RESURRECT NEUROSIS
There are great opportunities and challenges ahead for us to continue such a struggle. It does not quickly fall into the hands of humans. With this struggle, the conditions of the revolution became stronger and deeper. In the 50th year of the Leader and of the party we saw this with joy. With the spirit of the revolutionary step and its will we entered the fiftieth year. This spirit of struggle has had a great impact on all parts of Kurdistan and on the humanity of the world as a morale booster. In 2021, the guerrillas put up a heroic resistance against the fascist and genocidal attacks in the plains, rivers and cities, and this brought us to such a level. The Kurdistan People’s Revolutionary War marked a turning point in practice as the new year entered its 50th anniversary of the Newroz. It reached such a level that nation-state fascism was overthrown in Kurdistan. The enemy has launched counter-attacks to prevent this step as it leads to destruction. According to Tayyip Erdogan, his administration, the fascism of the AKP and the MHP is the best defense of the attack. Because he knows if he stops it will collapse, so he always attacks. With incessant attacks it wants to prevent its destruction. It counteracts this attack in order to survive and prolong its life. This attack is against revolutionary development.
THE TURKISH NATION-STATE FASCISM WILL BE DESTROYED
In many areas as an occupier movement this counter-attack is planned and carried out. In this way, they want to make North Kurdistan a prison between the North and the South, as things have been blocked on the Western border. Severe psychological pressure, terror and isolation on Leader Apo want to continue with the occupier attacks. With such a counter-attack they want to destroy the existence of the Kurds and build the future of Turkish nation-state fascism.
This process that we are going through is a permanent process for the Turkish nation-state fascism. If Turkey mobilizes all its resources and does not destroy it, it will destroy itself. In order to be on your own you have to destroy the opposites. Thus a genocidal fascist attack carried out massacres despite state terror. On the one hand, such massacres and genocides continue in the military field, and on the other hand, they want to bring in local and global forces. The fascism of the AKP and the MHP represents all the values of Turkey. They are putting pressure on everyone, threatening them, making concessions, trying to annihilate the Kurds and convince the people for a system of denial and destruction. This is the aim of the military offensive and the occupier movement.
THEY SEE THEIR DEATH IN THE FREEDOM OF THE KURDS
The fascist administration of the AKP and the MHP had planned the fascist military system on 12 September but could not implement it due to the 15 August move. Because the current nation-state fascism is based on hostility to the Kurds and is a regional system. It is also a global system. Want to maintain this system character. They know that even if there is a small hole here, the system that the Kurds do not consider to exist will definitely collapse and this will lead to the end of their rule. This is why the fascism of the AKP and the MHP sees its death in the freedom of the Kurds. Because they have built their existence and sovereignty on the genocide of the Kurds. This struggle is still going on on this basis.
IN NORTHERN KURDISTAN IS NOT JUST THE KURDISTAN REVOLUTION
What the Turkish nation-state system has focused on is the Kurdistan liberation revolution. Therefore, the liberation revolution in North Kurdistan is not just a partial revolution or a revolution in Kurdistan. It is also not just the Turkish revolution. It has been trying for 25 years to lead the democratic revolution in the Middle East since World War 3. It is therefore necessary to be creative, to think deeply, to use flexibility and radicalism properly when needed. One might ask why the struggle in North Kurdistan lasted so long and so hard. Our answer is that the struggle in North Kurdistan is not just a partial struggle, it is not just the struggle of Kurdistan or of a democratic Turkey. This struggle seeks to build, open up and lead the Democratic Revolution in the Middle East. This difficult struggle also requires great responsibility, resilience, courage and heroism.
OUR STEP OF FREEDOM IS TOWARDS SUCCESS
Our struggle for freedom has been successful. Now the question we want to answer is: Will we be able to take this step of success or not? Fascism, restored under the leadership of the AKP and the MHP, is trying to defeat our revolution. Other than that the AKP and MHP cannot survive. The system of Capitalist Modernity and some regional powers want to take advantage of this bad situation in Turkey. Here the truth of all these forces must be well understood. These wars and conflicts are hurting the people of the Middle East. We want to prevent these damages and save the people from these things. But it should not be assumed that everyone is like us. For example global powers are not like us. On the contrary they are happy with such a situation with conflict and war. In addition they want to increase war and conflict. No matter how complicated and warlike it becomes in the Middle East, they can do as much politics, political and military work. So they want to divide more, increase its conflicts and build wars.
WHAT THE GLOBAL FORCES HAVE DONE IN THE MIDDLE EAST HAS HAPPENED TO THEM
Global powers are also fighting among themselves. But they do not have the power to solve problems. Everyone wants to achieve something about it. The Kurds are seen as having great power in the region and are key actors. The Kurdish people have become political and military actors in the region thanks to the memory of Leader Apo and the PKK’s struggles. Established a power dynamic. This is also seen in the military, politics and economy. These forces used to be part of the denial and destruction of the Kurdish people. They supported the racism of Turks, Arabs and Persians in the region. But what they did already gave them. They can no longer earn anything from the Middle East and drink its blood as before. So they want to change their policy.
TWO IMPORTANT AREAS FOR CHANGING THE STATUS
There are two main areas for changing the nation-state status. One is Arabia and the other is Kurdistan. Both Kurdistan and Arabia were divided during the First World War. The Arabs became a second-class society. The Arab community did not accept this. Arab society has a historical social reality. They come from the Neolithic and Sumerian. They have contributed to the Islamic Revolution and the creation of monotheistic religions. They represent the last revolution of Islam and do not want to become a second class society. It was on this basis that the Arab Spring uprising took place. Even after World War II it started as a radical military revolution from Iraq and even in Egypt in many countries behind racist coups this is true. In short, the Arab community rejects this status imposed on them.
The Kurds also rejected this system in the first place and resisted. In all four parts of Kurdistan they resisted but were disorganized and fragmented. Their strength was not enough to repel and defeat these attacks. Thanks to Leader Apo they were able to identify this system and strive to defeat it on a theoretical and tactical level. This thing flourished with the PKK. As a result of these things, Kurdistan exists. The Kurdistan Freedom Revolution and the Kurdish Freedom Movement play a role in this regard in the region. Now the global powers are seeing this situation well. To change this and take advantage of it, they want to rely on the Kurds and the Arabs.
In this case, all those who want change must pay attention to the Kurds and the Arabs and their struggle. Somehow you have to turn your back on them. No self-reliant force can change the nation-state status quo in the region. Therefore, they paid attention to Kurdistan and Arabia. Based on what has emerged in Saudi Arabia and Kurdistan they want to change the Middle East a bit and build on that basis and take advantage of the developments here.
‘WE MUST ORGANIZE OURSELVES ON THE BASIS OF THE TRUTH OF THE PEOPLE AND THE WARRIORS’
Our task now is to link the current level of struggle to the victory of the revolution and to develop the struggle. The military, the political, the insurgency, the diplomacy and the democratic nation must act accordingly. In this context time is the time of the great revolutionary step, the time of the victory of the revolution.
For this too our most basic task is to organize ourselves on the basis of the reality of the people of war. For this, too, as professional resistance forces; guerrillas and as indigenous resistance forces; The self-defense forces must integrate the entire society in the four parts of Kurdistan and bring it to the level and organization that it can fight on a daily basis. Those who properly understand, plan and implement these tasks in practice will surely succeed.
This is necessary for the guerrillas, for the women and youth movements, in short for any job. It is on this basis that one must reach the consciousness, determination, courage, sacrifice and pluralism of the time to carry out the tasks. Of course we need to do this on the basis of the reality of the warring people. That is what we must do in the face of resistance. To be able to stand on the line of victory, the basic task is to train, organize and grow guerrilla forces and self-defense forces everywhere.
‘THE ESSENTIAL IS THAT PEOPLE CAN CHANGE THEM’
The key here is to change yourself according to the tasks of the time, to do so with courage. There needs to be big change and transformation, new time tasks have to be accepted and people have to reach that time decision and responsibility.
Revolution is the job of being ready for opportunities at every turn. The foundations of revolutionary art and political art are hidden here. If you are ready to take advantage of opportunities at every opportunity; if you are ready to feel, think, spirit, organize and practice; if you are loyal to the party, the guerrillas and the line of life with the Leader 24 hours a day, you will easily find opportunities and opportunities to use at any time. The method of time is exactly like this. On this basis the Apocalyptic method, the revolutionary method must be perfectly incorporated into life and struggle. If we act in this way then we will be able to accomplish the tasks of the era. That is why we will definitely take the revolutionary step. “
