ŞENGAL – While hundreds of people in Şengal want to demonstrate against the policy of sieging Şengal and building a wall on the border with Rojava, the Iraqi army is trying to prevent the demonstratıon by blocking their way with a large number of armed forces.
The Iraqi government is resorting to new ways and methods to increase the pressure and siege on Şengal. For about a month, the Iraqi army has been active in Şengal to encircle Şengal with a meter-high and kilometer-long wall on the border with Rojava, and are further reinforcing it with wire fences in the area surrounding the wall.
THE PEOPLE TAKE ACTION AGAINST THE SIEGE
People in Şengal demonstrated en masse today against the policies of Iraqi Prime Minister Mustafa Kazimi’s government.
Hundreds of people gathered in Xanesor and Sinun and marched towards the Iraqi army base in Tirbika near the border.
However, the Iraqi army blocked the society’s demonstration with great force and prevented them from proceeding. The Iraqi army was informed before the demonstration started, but it was claimed that the Iraqi forces blocking the way of the people blocked the road under the pretext of not being informed.
It was also revealed that many Arabs who wanted to participate in the demonstration were threatened by Iraqi forces not to participate. Negotiations are currently continuing to bring the demonstration to a conclusion, but no result has yet been achieved.
