SHINGAL – Iraqi government continues to build a separation wall on the border between Shingal and NE Syria, accompanied by the installation of barbed wire 5 km deep inside the lands of Shingal in parallel with the wall.
Iraqi army is increasing its pressure on the residents of the villages near the border, threatening them directly not to take part in any activities that oppose the construction of the wall and the siege of Shingal.
On March 13, Arabs and Yezidis of Shingal marched against the attempt to set borders between Arab and Yezidi villages, And after the march, Iraqi government’s pressure on the people of Arab village increased.
According to the information reported by Roj News Agency correspondent in Shingal, after March 15, the forces of 18th Brigade of Iraqi army and border guards of Prime Minister raided the Arab villages of “Hasawek, Berghary and Tal Mishrf” in Sinuny district.
The reporter confirmed that the forces threatened civilians not to speak to the media and talk about the raid, while they claimed that the reason for the raid was to search for weapons.
Roj News correspondent reported that Iraqi army directly threatened Arabs and called them not to participate in the activities against the construction of the wall.
