ZURICH – On April 27, the U.S. consulate in Zurich was attacked by internationalist youth who smashed the consulate’s windows with hammers and left the slogan “Smash NATO.” In the statement on their action, they refer to NATO’s involvement in fascist Turkey’s poison gas and chemical operations against guerrilla resistance areas and Turkish fascism’s wave of attacks against the Kurdistan Freedom Movement.
The statement said:
“10 days after Turkey launched a new offensive against the guerrilla areas of Southern Kurdistan and 4 days before May 1, today, 4/27/22, we attacked the front door of the U.S. Consulate in Zurich with hammers and left a “Smash NATO” writing.
With this we join the various calls to act also in Europe and also militantly to the new wave of attacks of Turkish fascism against the Kurdish freedom movement.
Why the USA? Because this war would not be possible without the support of the USA. They are providing satellite reconnaissance data to their NATO partner Turkey, they are supplying it with the latest war technology and they are actively opening the airspace for the Turkish bombers. Let’s never forget this, every bomb that is currently dropped over the northern Iraqi mountains – whether conventional or poison gas – requires and gets the green light from the US.
Unlike Ukraine, which two reactionary capitalist power blocs are currently turning into a slaughterhouse in their imperial competition, in the mountains of northern Iraq and Turkey, in Shengal and Rojava, freedom and fascism, democracy and authoritarianism are actually facing each other.
With all determination, we join the camp of freedom and democracy, that is, the camp of revolution, in this. This revolution, which has been deepening and broadening in Rojava for 10 years despite all attacks, is also our revolution. It gives a concrete shape to our struggle here – against oppression and exploitation, against patriarchy and racism, against environmental destruction, war and the threat of fascism, against all the capitalist shit.
Therefore, let’s join the defense of the revolution! Let’s defend the friends of the Kurdish guerrilla and defend a central part of our own revolutionary perspective. Let’s go to the streets, on May Day and beyond, let’s attack the enemies of the revolution: In word and deed, day and night!
Biji Berxwedana Gerila!
Hail to international solidarity!
Out for May Day!”
