BEHDÎNAN – The HPG Press Center has published the names of three fallen guerrillas who died in 2020 during the invasion of the Turkish occupying states in the south and north of Kurdistan.
The statement of the press center said:
“The invading Turkish army wanted to liquidate the Kurdistan Freedom Guerrilla by turning the geography of Kurdistan into a war zone from north to south in 2020. The genocidal Turkish army, which was bent on eliminating the achievements of our people by destroying the guerrillas, met the steely will of the guerrillas of Kurdistan. Thanks to the guerrilla resistance, the genocidal colonial enemy could not achieve its goals. Our heroic martyrs exposed these developments by conducting the intense war process with great faith and sacrifice. In this sense, these heroic martyrs are the creators of the hope for revolution that is revealed today. Our comrade Delîla, Mawa and Cesur became martyrs by leading our war of honor against the fascist Turkish army in 2020. We remember these esteemed comrades who took the lead in the revolutionary marches they started with great faith with respect and reaffirm our promise to realize their dreams.”
The identities of the fallen guerrillas are as follows:

DELİLA ARGEŞ
“Our comrade Delila was born in Amed, the ancient capital of Kurdistan, and grew up in a patriotic family. At a young age, she witnessed the oppression and injustice in Kurdistan. She joined the ranks of the party in 2009, no longer accepting the oppression and humiliation of women and children in the lands of Amed who cling to their traditions and culture. Although she knew that the path of truth is difficult and the price is high, our comrade Delila, who participated in this struggle from the first day with great enthusiasm and morality like a pure child, never gave up her faith, commitment and attitude. She knew how to carry the enthusiasm of participation at a young age to all the fields where she was engaged in the struggle for freedom. Our comrade, who took great responsibility and seriousness in every task she undertook, made great contributions to the development of the women’s freedom struggle with her work in many fields, which was created by Rêber Apo with great effort and patience.”
The statement goes on to say that Heval Delila was among the first YJA Star guerrilla forces to move to Şengal to “respond to the cries of hundreds” who were murdered in IS gangs’ attacks in 2014.
“She knew there had to be a response, and the response had to be on the ground. That’s why she participated alongside her own people in the Şengal Mountains for a long time. Later, after taking on various tasks in many of our fighting fields, she was ready to go to the areas in the north in 2017. Our comrade Delila, following the footsteps of Nûda and Gulbahar, headed to the north to carry out guerrilla activities in Gabar. There, for three years, as a fighter, she represented the honorable cause against the nonstop attacks of the enemy, without stopping, and filled her responsibilities. In the new Kurdish reality created by leader Apo, there is a struggle for the convictions, even if it has to be paid at a high cost or sacrificing oneself if necessary. Our comrade Delila has brought this reality into consciousness and developed her participation within the framework of this level of consciousness. Our comrade Delîla, who embraced our lives with this consciousness until the last moment, has been working hard to make the best contribution to our revolutionary struggle in northern Kurdistan. In particular, she wanted to respond to all the attacks of the enemy with the guerrilla tactics of the new era and constantly deepened herself for this purpose. That our comrade Delîla fell, who was a source of morale for all her comrades with her joy of life, smiling face and warmth, became a reason for us, her comrades, to fight even more.”

MAWA TOLHILDAN
“Our comrade Mawa was born and raised in a patriotic family in Êlih (Batman), one of the patriotic cities of Kurdistan. Our comrade Mawa, a member of the Torî tribe, who paid a high price in the Kurdish freedom struggle and accepted our struggle more and more every day, got to know the freedom movement at a younger age because of these characteristics of his family and environment. Our comrade Mawa participated in the youth work at a young age and was actively involved. Our comrade Mawa, who was arrested many times during these works; recognized and experienced in this process the reality of the fascist Turkish state, where the protection and defense of its people, culture and even itself is considered a crime, obedience and slavery are imposed and the Kurdish personality is accepted only as a collaborator . After all this, our comrade Mawa, who decided to strengthen his struggle even more, turned his face to the free mountains of Kurdistan and joined the guerrillas. Our comrade Mawa, who was characterized by his courage, sacrifice and dynamism from the first day of joining, had no difficulty in participating in the activities and quickly knew how to keep up with his comrades. Our comrade Mawa, who was distinguished by his speed and competence in self-education and self-development, knew how to justify ideologically his experiences from the activities he carried out and proceeded accordingly. With these qualities, our comrade Mawa, one of our comrades who played an active role in the self-management resistance of our people, especially the youth, was wounded and captured by the fascist Turkish state during this process. Our comrade Mawa, who turned his face back to the free mountains with the experiences he had after a while in the dungeon, showed an attitude that dealt the heaviest blow to the enemy, as in the youth work, the free mountains and the self-government resistance. Our comrade Mawa, who is an example to all his comrades with his will, determination and resoluteness, has brought to consciousness his hatred and resentment against the enemy. This is based on being focused every moment on beating the enemy and avenging one’s own fallen comrades. Our comrade Mawa, who succeeded in being a comrade to be loved and respected by his comrades in every field in which he was active since the first day he joined, always relied on improving himself in the apoist philosophy. In these processes, he achieved significant improvements in his personality; at the same time, he did not fail to pass on his learned and practical life experiences to his comrades and knew how to behave in the position of a teacher and a learner. Our comrade Mawa, who adopted a humble, resolute and sharp attitude, has become a symbol of resistance and will for us comrades.”

CESUR ROJHILAT
“Our comrade Cesur was born in the patriotic town of Urmiye in Eastern Kurdistan. Because his family had adopted in its character the Kurdish culture and the tradition of resistance, he grew up with this reality. In his environment, he listened to the old stories of the society about the historical events, the crimes of the occupiers and massacres of the colonialists towards the society and developed a great hatred towards the enemy. For this reason, he has always tried to be an individual with a free personality, constantly criticizing the existing system and believing that life outside a given system is possible. Our comrade Cesur, who found the alternative to the free life he was looking for in the philosophy of Rêber Apo, had the opportunity to join the ranks of the guerrillas, to achieve the free life he wanted and had the opportunity to take revenge for the oppression of the people. Our comrade Cesur, who threw himself into guerrilla life with such assertive concentration, was able to prove this claim with all his practice. He raised his resentment against the enemy to consciousness by making himself competent in the military art and proved it with success in many actions in which he participated. He was active in many areas, especially in Zap and Xakurkê, in the Medya defense areas and with the experience he had gained in the war, he managed to become a pioneering commander at a young age. Our comrade Cesur, the young commander of the restructuring project, always tried to be a competent fighter in all aspects by developing himself ideologically. That is why he researched, read and delved into all things. For him, it was important to participate in this revolutionary process in the best and most effective way. With his youthful energy, joy and enthusiasm, he never stopped and with these qualities he was a source of morale and a good example for his comrades.”
At the end of the statement, it said:
“We respectfully remember our comrade Delila, Mawa and Cesur who brought our people and our movement one step closer to victory by shattering all dreams of liquidating the genocidal enemy with their skills on the battlefield and we take this opportunity to express our condolences to all patriotic people of Kurdistan, especially their precious families.”
