BEHDÎNAN – In a statement issued by the HPG Press Center, the names of three fallen HPG fighters were published.
The statement said:
“The year 2017 was the heaviest year of the offensive attacks of the genocidal Turkish army that started in 2015. In the face of these attacks, the guerrillas of Kurdistan put up a determined resistance and thwarted the extermination aims of the occupiers. In this war process, our comrades who fell at great sacrifice created hope for victory. Our comrades partisans, Kemal and Çekdar, fought against the occupiers in Botan region during this war trial and made Botan the center of resistance. These comrades fought until their last breath, based on the philosophy of Rêber Apo, and sacrificed their lives for their country. We reaffirm our commitment to fulfill our revolutionary missions entrusted to us by these dear comrades and to remain faithful to their memory.”
The details of the identities of our fallen comrades are as follows:

PARTÎZAN HEREKOL
“Our comrade Partîzan is originally from Berwari in Siirt, was born in Mersin into a patriotic family. The family of our comrade Partizan had to move to the metropolises of Turkey because of the immigration policy of the enemy who is carrying out a genocide against the Kurds. But they never broke their ties with their country, their ties with Kurdistan. Our comrade Partizan, although born and raised in the metropolises of Turkey, has built his personality with the patriotic culture he inherited from his family. Strongly rooted in the Kurdish culture, he has not detached himself from his roots. Therefore, he was not indifferent to the liberation war in Kurdistan. The genocidal, assimilation, annihilation and denial policies of the enemy against the Kurdish people were never accepted by him and he always fought against the enemy. Our comrade Partizan has always tried to intensify his struggle and especially to break the isolation of our chairman and to secure his freedom, to be able to respond to our people’s aspiration for freedom, to keep the memory of the heroic martyrs alive he joined the ranks of the guerrillas in 2012.
In 2012, when the war was very intense, our comrade Partizan was trained in the conditions of war, which influenced him and strengthened him both militarily and ideologically. Our comrade Partizan was trained in guerrilla warfare in Xakurkê and developed in a short time to be able to respond in the best possible way to the values that Rêber Apo had created for the Kurdish people. When the IS gangs attacked our people in the West in 2013-2014, he took responsibility and efforts against the attempts to destroy the achievements of our people and the massacres and actively fought against the gangs. Through this courageous and diligent participation in this war process, he became an exemplary Apoyî fighter. He also proposed to move to the north of Kurdistan to fight against the Turkish state, which is the main enemy of the Kurdish people. He returned to the mountains of Kurdistan and joined the special forces. The main reason for our comrade Partîzan’s participation in the organization of the Special Forces was that he wanted to immerse himself in the philosophy of the Chairman and to live up to it with the philosophy of his own sacrifice.
Our comrade Partizan came to the conclusion that he could only be successful by joining the sacrificial line and fighting on this line. That is why he had always fought. Our comrade Partizan had already become the center of our guerrilla resistance in Botan in the process of self-resistance in 2015 and 2016, especially in Cizre and Silopi, because the enemy committed inhumane massacres against our people. With the urgency of the enemy’s accountability, our comrade Partizan penetrated into the Botan region, tried to become the most radical representative of the self-sacrificing line and plunged into its depths. At the same time he sacrificed himself for the Chairman and our fallen comrades, both in war and in life. Especially in the footsteps of our comrades Botan, Harun, Zinar and Sema, who worked together and dealt heavy blows to the enemy with their sacrificial activities. He has remained faithful to the memory of these comrades. With the strength and morale of the fallen, our comrade was always actively involved. With his friendly, simple and understanding personality, he was a dedicated fighter and a good fighter of Rêber Apo.”

KEMAL AVESTA
“Comrade Kemal was born in Silopi, which has been a fortress of resistance throughout history. In his childhood, he witnessed the dirty politics of the enemy against our people and got to know our party, the PKK, through the heroic stories of the guerrillas of Kurdistan. The struggle against the tyranny of the enemy in the mountains of Kurdistan attracted the attention of our friend Kemal and it became his dream to become a guerrilla one day. Comrade Kemal was influenced by the fallen comrades who fought against the occupation and like all honorable Kurdish youths, he came to the mountains of Kurdistan back in 2015 to avenge our fallen. Comrade Kemal was influenced by PKK life and friendly relations that liberate people and tried to become a good PKK member. Initially, he joined the ranks of the guerrillas with holy feelings, but as his training progressed, he transformed his emotional commitment into a focus on thinking and understanding and strengthened the ideological aspects in his commitment. Thanks to the changes in his personality through training, he has attracted the attention of all his comrades. Due to the influence of our PKK party and Rêber Apo’s philosophy, he has always been committed to Rêber Apo, our PKK party and the line of the fallen. For this reason, he claimed to be a follower of Kemal Pîr and Mehmet Hayrî Durmûş and in order to pay this debt, he believed he had to fight against the dictatorial and murderous state and crossed the Cudi area where he spent his childhood. Thus, his dream reached a climax. Although he only stayed in Cudi for a short time, he influenced all his comrades with his selfless attitude, and even after he joined the ranks of the fallen, he became the reason for his comrades to continue the struggle.”

ÇEKDAR BAXTIYAR
“Heval Çekdar was also born into a patriotic and hardworking family and grew up in a resilient environment. In his youth, he witnessed the attacks on our people and then set out on a quest. To adopt the philosophy of Rêber Apo and fight against the murderous enemy, he made great efforts and decided that guerrilla warfare is necessary for absolute victory. On this basis, he joined the ranks of the guerrillas, immersed himself in basic training and made radical changes in a short time. In order to translate his anger against the enemy into action, he relied on immersion in the ideology of Apoyî. Within a short time, he had developed in guerrilla style and tactics and insisted on fighting in Botan. With his hardworking, practical and humble personality, he won a place in the hearts of his comrades and became an exemplary fighter in all fields. In the war against the Turkish occupation army, he fought for hours and showed great heroism together with his comrades. Our friend Çekdar resisted until his last shot and dealt heavy blows to the enemy. He will always live as the hero of Botan in our struggle.”
In the conclusion of the statement of the HPG Press Center, the HPG expresses its condolences to the relatives of the fallen and the Patriotic Society of Kurdistan.
