BEHDİNAN – HPG Press Liaison Center made a written statement, announcing the identities of the three guerrillas who were martyred in the attacks launched by the invading Turkish state against the Medya Defense Areas on April 17, and said, “They heralded a great victory with their resistance.”
HPG Press Center statement is as follows:
“The invading Turkish army wanted to take down many hills within the framework of the operation it started on the evening of 17 April against the Medya Defense Areas, but it did not get the desired results in this attempt. It has faced the epic resistance of our guerrilla forces, especially in the Çiyareş, Şikefta Birîndara, Karker, Kurojahro and Werxelê Resistance Areas. Our guerrilla forces dealt heavy blows to the invaders in these resistance areas. On the first day of the invasion operation, one of our valiant commanders, Saristan, who led this epic guerrilla resistance by punishing 32 invaders in total, fell martyrs in the Karker Resistance Area, and our brave militants Navdar and Rêdûr were martyred in the Kurojahro area.

ŞARISTAN TEKİN
Our comrade Sharistan was born in Êlih, one of the important resistance centers of Kurdistan, in a patriotic family that participated in the Kurdistan Freedom Struggle and was martyred. Due to the patriotism of her family, she had the opportunity to get to know the freedom movement closely. Therefore, it took its place in the revolutionary work early on. She first participated in youth work, and took an active role in getting the youth of Kurdistan to know herself and to join the struggle. Our comrade Sharistan, who has a successful practice in youth work, joined the guerrilla ranks in 2009 in order to continue her struggle more productively and to avenge the genocidal policies of the enemy against our people. With her concise and honest participation, our comrade Sharistan has clarified her stance in the revolutionary struggle from the very beginning. She wanted to understand the philosophy of the Leadership in every moment and to have a life and participation according to it. For this, she has had a great effort and effort. Our comrade Saristan moved to the Heftanîn area after she received her basic training and carried out a certain practice in the area of Xinêrê, where she first started her guerrilla activities. With her works, she recorded every detail of the life of the guerrilla and historicity it. In this work, she had the opportunity to get to know many of his comrades. The martyrdom of some of these comrades became the reason for our comrade Sharistan to become more competent in the military sense, and since 2016, she has undertaken duties in the fields of Xakurkê and Avaşîn as a leading commander. She caused the enemy to take great blows with the works she carried out in these places and the attacks she developed against the enemy forces. Our comrade Saristan, who adds new ones to her military experience every day, has not stopped successfully fulfilling her duties and responsibilities as a leading YJA-Star commander of the new era. Particularly, she concentrated on practising the war tactics of the new era, and pioneered the guerrilla hitting the enemy forces with richer tactics. In the invasion attacks launched on the Zap area on April 17, 2022, she led a self-sacrificing resistance against the first attack of the enemy in the Karker area, leading the enemy to break through in this area. Inheriting the legacy of our YJA-Star forces’ leadership in the resistance developed in 2021, our comrade Saristan has determined that the resistance developed today will also have a female colour and will be led by YJA-Star.

NAVDAR MAZÎ
Our comrade Navdar was born in Amed, the city of serhildans, and grew up in a patriotic family devoted to Kurdistani values. Despite the intense assimilation and annihilation attacks developed by the colonial Turkish state to destroy the resistance line that developed in Amed, our comrade, who grew up within the sacred values created by the Kurdistan Freedom Struggle, defended himself against these attacks and walked the line of freedom. As an honorable Kurdish youth, he created the ground for struggle in every environment he was in and was in a constant resistance against the colonialists. Our comrade, who led the society and youth by taking part in youth work for a while, became the target of the invaders and was detained many times. He joined the ranks of the Kurdistan Freedom Guerrilla in Amed in 2014, on the basis of responding to the attacks of the invaders and our people’s hopes for freedom. Our comrade, who quickly adapted to the guerrilla conditions after the basic training he received in the guerrilla ranks, made great progress in a short time. Our comrade, who gained a deep analytical power with his military and ideological dominance, had a participation befitting the militant spirit of the period in life and war. Specializing in the guerrilla tactics of the new era, our comrade carried out guerrilla practices in many different fields and had an exemplary stance. In the face of the genocidal attacks carried out by ISIS gangs against our Yazidi people, he went to Shengal, fought against ISIS fascism there, and played a great role in achieving victory. Our comrade, who constantly improves his military qualification, has duly fulfilled his pioneering mission by becoming a commander. Our comrade Navdar, who is loved and respected among all his comrades with his enthusiastic and exciting personality, lastly practices in the Kurojahro area of the Zap region. He was one of our comrades who first met the comprehensive invasion operation launched by the colonial Turkish state on April 17 in his position and dealt the first blow to the invaders, and led the way in dealing heavy blows to the colonialists. Our comrade Navdar, who supported all his comrades by running from position to position and made the invaders experience hell in the Kurojahro Resistance Area, has been one of the most magnificent examples of the self-sacrificing militant stance in his war as he did in his life. Despite the intense clashes and incessant bombardments, our comrade Navdar, who, together with his comrades, prevented the occupiers from reaching their low goals and dealt the first blow to the occupiers and repulsed them, has turned into a symbol of courage of our resistance that leads to victory moment by moment. Our comrade Navdar continues to illuminate our way by living in our struggle with the spirit of sacrifice.

RÊDÜR KOBANÊ
Our comrade Rêdûr was born in a patriotic family in Kobanê, which went down in history with his glorious resistance against ISIS gangs. Influenced by the patriotic nature of his family and the atmosphere of freedom unleashed by the Rojava Freedom Revolution, our comrade Rêdûr believed that the permanent achievements of our people would be possible with a revolution that would develop in the whole of Kurdistan. He was aware that this would only happen with the defeat of the genocidal Turkish state. For this reason, our comrade Rêdûr, who joined the guerrilla ranks in 2019, managed to become a competent guerrilla with the ideological and military training he received in a short time. In particular, he had a great effort in applying the tactics and style of the New Era Guerrilla. Our comrade Rêdûr, who has great faith in Leader Apo and the freedom movement, has succeeded in transforming this belief into consciousness by educating himself under all circumstances. Our comrade Rêdûr, who prepares himself for a great war at any moment, has participated in many actions in which heavy blows were inflicted on the enemy by fighting like a bodyguard when appropriate. He took part in the first guerrilla team that dealt a blow to the enemy soldiers who wanted to land on Kurojahro during the invasion attacks that started on April 17, and duly fulfilled his historical duty. During a period when the KDP was collaborating with the enemy, as a young man from Kobanê, he fought selflessly for the defense of Bashure Kurdistan and reached the level of a truly nationalized personality. Our comrade Rêdûr, who fulfilled his duty of patriotism and militancy, has clearly demonstrated the attitude that all Kurdistan youth should adopt.
We express our condolences to all our patriotic people of Kurdistan, especially to the families of our comrades Saristan, Navdar and Rêdûr, who heralded a great victory with their resistance.”
