HPG Press Center statement is as follows:
“The invading Turkish state has set as its main objective the destruction of the Kurdistan Freedom Guerrilla, the most legitimate and true representative of our people’s honorable struggle, which it sees as an obstacle to their dreams of colonizing the entire Middle East, starting from Kurdistan. In this context, since July 2015, it has put all its financial resources into the service of the dirty war it has waged in Kurdistan and has made numerous attacks in every area where the guerrilla is located. The Turkish state aims to liquidate the PKK, to surrender the will of our people, and to complete the Kurdish Genocide, with the direct and indirect support of the collaborative local forces it has recruited into its ranks. On this basis, it has found the unwavering will of the Kurdistan Freedom Guerrilla in every attack it has undertaken.
THE OCCUPATION MOVEMENT IS A TOTAL WAR
The colonial Turkish state, which bombarded the Kurdistan geography dozens of times with the most advanced technology, especially with warplanes, failed to achieve any results and once again launched a comprehensive invasion operation against Avasin and Zap regions on the night of 17 April with the aim of occupying the lands of Bashure Kurdistan. This invasion operation is not an ordinary attack or operation, it is a state of total war that exceeds the level of war between states.
The invasion operation first started with intensified aerial bombardments on 14 April. The invading Turkish army attempted to land soldiers on the guerrilla areas with helicopters on the night of April 17, accompanied by the bombardment of attack helicopters. In all areas, our forces responded quickly without hesitation, intervened in the helicopters and did not give the opportunity to land the invaders in many areas. In the following days, the Turkish army continued these attempts at night, taking advantage of the darkness of the night. All attempts were met with the intervention of our forces, and as a result, 11 helicopters were hit. The invading Turkish army, which could not land the invading soldiers from the air, then tried to come by land. This calculation of the Turkish army, which thought that it would get results by reducing its soldiers to the guerrilla areas from the first day, was spoiled by the resistance of the guerrilla and the first step of the invasion operation was wasted at the very beginning. The war criminal Turkish army, which could not achieve its goal and received heavy blows, started to use poisonous chemical gases against some of the war positions in Kurojahro, Werxelê, Martyr Şahin, Kunîşka and Girê Ortê Resistance Areas since the fourth day of the war.
KDP CAUSED GUERILLA AREAS TO BE KNOWN BACK
The Turkish state also received support from the KDP in the invasion operation of Bashure Kurdistan, and carried out its attack on the Zap area from the south via the KDP-controlled Bamernê-Amediye-Dêrelok line. The KDP has clearly given way to stabbing the guerrilla areas by being shot in the back. KDP forces deployed to the rear of the Kurojahro region and tried to surround the guerrilla areas. During the one-week war period, the KDP forces still did not give up this stance and they continue to do so.
GUERILLAS TAKE COMPLETE ACTIONS
Our forces have made the invaders pay a heavy bill by turning all the areas they are in into Resistance Zones. In particular, a high war performance was demonstrated, in which the mobile guerrilla warfare style was effectively activated, and the new era guerrilla tactics were skillfully applied from sabotage to assassination, from infiltration to raid, from trap to heavy weapon actions. Our forces were both active in the form of mobile guerrilla teams and carried out complex actions with coordinated guerrilla actions. Our forces have been in action at all hours of the day and night throughout the week of high-intensity warfare. The leadership of these actions by our YJA Star forces and the realization of many unique actions once again demonstrated the level of militancy and command reached by the Kurdish resistance woman, equipped with the Women’s Freedom Ideology. The level reached by the Kurdistan Freedom Guerrilla indicates a historical significance for the people of Kurdistan and our future.
OUR GUERILLA WALKING IN THE APOIST LINE PROVED ITS INSTITUTE TO THE WORLD
Our comrades, who dealt the first and heaviest blow to the invaders from the very first moment of the attacks, led the development of this historical resistance of our Kurdistan Freedom Guerrilla, who fought to their last bullets and achieved martyrdom. The high courage, unwavering stance and war merits of our martyred comrades determined the direction of the sacrifice war that our forces will wage from now on. While we commemorate with respect and gratitude our 11 comrades who were martyred in Zap and Avaşîn during this war and led the march of the victory guerrilla in 2022, we promise to make their memories a reason for victory.
The struggle of our guerrilla against the invasion operation, every moment of which has turned into history, once again turned the dirty plans of the invading Turkish state upside down and once again proved the invincibility of our guerrilla marching in the Apoist line to the whole world.
