ISTANBUL – The Justice Watch, which was started in Istanbul by the relatives of the prisoners to release the sick and prisoners whose executions were burned, and to end the increasing rights violations, continues in its fourth week in front of the Bakırköy Courthouse.
Surrounding the front of the courthouse with barricades, the police tried to prevent the action. HDP’s Ali Kenanoğlu reacted to the police blocking, which cited the one-month ban decision of the Bakırköy District Governor’s Office as the reason, saying that they are exercising their democratic rights and this will not prevent it.
Later, the relatives of the prisoners were besieged by the police. “We don’t want our children to die,” said the blockade. We are mothers. Let’s free our children. Fince Akman and Cemile Karakaş, relatives of the prisoners, who protested by saying “We want our children,” were detained by using violence.
Meanwhile, “In prisons, people are left to die unlawfully. You will give an account like those who gave an account before you. People die in prisons, under the protection of power and the state. This is a death sentence. It was noteworthy that the police responded, “I am the state,” to HDP’s Ali Kenanoğlu, who reacted by saying, “Is the state divided or destroyed with a statement?”
Deputies Ali Kenanoğlu and Zeynel Özen, who called for the release of the detained mothers, carried out many sit-ins in front of the courthouse.
