CENTRAL NEWS – Today, April 6, the anniversary of the martyrdom of YPJ fighter Viyan Peyman, who played a significant role in the struggle of Kobane and was martyred in the struggle of Jazeera.
Viyan Peyman, a fighter and artist from eastern Kurdistan, was martyred on 6-4-2015 in a fight against ISIS militants in The Canton of Jazeera.
Sorkhwin Kobani, his childhood friend and YPJ commander on the martyr Viyan Peyman, said for many years: “When Viyan sang, all the friends gathered around her, Viyan fought against the mentality of authority in it. She was struggling, and she did not separate the mental war from the armed conflict. Viyan fought with weapons and with her voice against the most brutal force in the world, and we, as friends and comrades, reaffirm our promise.”
“Viyan Peyman was a struggling woman with her voice, color, and talent, giving excitement and morale to her friends on the battlefield. Viyan was known as her great friend among her friends, and when martyr Viyan went to protect and rescue her friends who were trapped in the war, she was martyred. Martyr Viyan struggled against any attack with the will and power of the essence of women, and one day he did not step backwards. Kobani’s resistance, despite all the obstacles and conditions of a difficult war, always sang with courage, moral, and songs for freedom, reviving the songs of resistance.”
