BEHDÎNAN – The HPG’s Press and Information Office issued a statement regarding the occupiers’ attacks and guerrilla activities.
The HPG statement reads:
“The actions of our forces against the occupier Turkish army’s operation against the Median Defense Areas on the night of April 17 continue unabated. Our forces inflicted heavy casualties on the invaders through their actions.
In the Zap region, which has been bombed 27 times by warplanes, our forces have punished 4 invaders and one occupier has been wounded. Information related to the activities is as follows;
In the early hours of April 17, Karker Square was bombed four times by warplanes. At 20:40 on the same day, the occupying Turkish army bombarded the area between Karker and Şehid Ciwan areas with attack helicopters and demanded 4 Skorsky helicopters to supply troops. As a result of the effective intervention of our forces in the area, the occupiers were forced to retreat without being able to pay the troops.
At 02:30 on 18 April, the area of Girê Şehîd Ciwan was heavily bombed by warplanes and helicopters. After the bombardment, the occupiers placed troops in the area and at 03:00 hours wanted to advance towards the Hill of Young Martyrs. The occupiers were in motion, our forces took them under their control and beat them with a seismic action. As a result of this action which was closely followed effectively against the invaders, 3 invaders were punished.
On 18 April at 06:30 and 07:40 hours, Karker and Girê Şehîd Ciwan were attacked by the occupiers with assassination tactics. As a result of these actions 1 occupant was punished and 1 was injured.
On the morning of 18 April, the Karker and Şehîd Ciwan areas were bombed 13 times by warplanes.
