CENTRAL NEWS – Liberation Day also known as the Anniversary of Italy’s Liberation (Anniversario della Liberazione d’Italia), Anniversary of the Resistance (Anniversario della Resistenza) is a national holiday in Italy that commemorates the victory of the Italian resistance movement against Nazi Germany and the Italian Social Republic, puppet state of the Nazis and rump state of the fascists, during World War II.
In Portugal the Carnation Revolution (Revolução dos Cravos), also known as the 25 April, was a military coup by left-leaning military officers that overthrew the authoritarian Estado Novo regime on 25 April 1974 in Lisbon, producing fundamental social, economic, territorial, demographic, and political changes in Portugal and its overseas colonies through the Processo Revolucionário Em Curso. It resulted in the Portuguese transition to democracy and the end of the Portuguese Colonial War.
Today both important historical days of the victory of the working class and antifascists was commemorated by the people in all parts of Italy and Portugal.
