BEHDÎNAN – The General Presidium Council of the KCK released a written message on the occasion of the birthday of the Chairman of the Freedom-Loving Peoples Abdullah Ocalan, who is celebrated as the rebirth of the Kurdish people. The message states:
“April 04 is the beginning of the history of the rebirth of the Kurd whose name has even been erased from history,” the statement said.
“On this basis, we call on all our patriotic people and their precious friends, women and youth of Kurdistan to raise the struggle for lifting the absolute isolation against Rêber Apo and ensure his physical freedom, expand their own organization and make the actions more effective. We invite everyone to plant trees there where they live.”
Further, the KCK states in its message:
“We congratulate on the birthday of Rêber Apo on April 04 the Kurdish people, their friends, women and all brotherly peoples and the world of democracy. We remember with great respect and gratitude the martyrs of 04 April, Mahsum Karaoğlan and Mustafa Dağ, who became symbols of patriotic devotion for Rêber Apo.
The birth of the Chairman on 04 April is a day of deep significance for the Kurdish people and Kurdish women. It is the gospel of rebirth for the Kurdish people. It is the good news of reunification with the existence that confronted them with losses. It is the gospel of a free life. That is why the Kurdish people and their friends celebrate April 04 every year with great morale and enthusiasm. They treat this day as a day of rebirth. They see this day as their own birthday, as their own day of existence, and they celebrate it as such.”
CELEBRATION OF APRIL 04 LED BY KURDISH WOMEN
The KCK states that the celebration of Rêber Apo’s birthday has emerged as an action in response to the international conspiracy that is celebrated on an organized level and on a mass scale. It was the will of the Kurdish women to celebrate the chairman’s birthday in an ecological way and as a democratic festival. Under the leadership of women, April 04 is celebrated and greeted with great festivities every year, which gradually became a new tradition. In this sense, according to the KCK, the celebration of the birth of the Chairman on April 04 is also an action of women, a gathering of women with the Chairman. “It is an expression of love, longing and devotion of Kurdish women towards Rêber Apo,” the statement said.
THE REBIRTH OF THE KURDISH PEOPLE
The KCK makes it clear that the Kurdish people were condemned to succumb to the fate of physical and cultural genocide until the moment Rêber Apo emerged. The Kurdish people were subjected to a great policy of denial and annihilation and were forced to deny their own identity. “In other words, even the name of the Kurd was erased from history along with his country and culture. Here, April 04 is the birth of the Chairman, the beginning of the Kurdish rebirth story, whose name was even erased from history. It is the emergence of the possibility of Newroz for the Kurds. It is the opportunity for a people who lost their Newroz to have their own Newroz again. It is the reunification of a people that has lost its illuminating sun. In this regard, the birth of the Chairman on April 04 is the end of the century-long condemnation of the Kurds to a fate of genocide.”
A NEW KURDISH TIME
“The time that began with the birth of Rêber Apo led to a new Kurdish time. He enabled the Kurdish people to connect with their historical roots and regain their lost identity. He opened their eyes to a dignified life with their true identity. As an honorable people, the Kurdish people began to regain their respected place among the peoples of the world. Despite the horrific genocidal cruelty and unsurpassed suffering suffered by our people, they are increasing their struggle in this direction a little every day. Because they know and believe that the line of Rêber Apos is the only way to salvation. Therefore, they are determined to extract the pain and suffering suffered and transform it into a source of new beauty and new revolutionary achievements.”
SPRINGTIME FOR ALL THE PEOPLE OF THE MIDDLE EAST.
“The great Kurdish revival that began with the birth of Rêber Apo is also the cultural, religious and identity revival of all other peoples in the Middle East geography. This reality in which the Kurds live coincides with the historical and social truth of our people. It was Rêber Apo who revealed this spirit and culture of coexistence and interdependence that our people carry in their historical social reality. Thanks to Rêber Apo, this spirit of fraternity in which the peoples lived in their own history began to resurrect in the geography of the Middle East. Today, this historical social and cultural spirit and understanding that began to build itself as the formation of a democratic nation under the leadership of the Kurdish people is beginning to melt and destroy the black winters caused by nation-states in their own favor against peoples, cultures and beliefs. It leads to the true spring and true Newroz of the peoples in the Middle East.”
