ERBIL – Veteran Peshmerga marched in front of the Kurdistan Regional Parliament in Erbil against the non-payment of salaries. The Peshmerga say they are turning not only for themselves, but also for the demands of the people.
Dissatisfaction with the non-payment of wages in South Kurdistan is increasing day by day. Teachers and staff in South Kurdistan have been boycotting and not going to work on a daily basis. Dissatisfaction is growing day by day.
Dissatisfaction with the non-payment of salaries is also growing in Erbil, with dozens of veteran peshmergas marching in front of the Kurdistan Regional Parliament in Erbil. The peshmerga’s protest in front of the parliament continues, the peshmerga want their rights to be granted.
A veteran peshmerga who spoke to Rojnews said; “We have repeatedly presented our demands to the parliament, but we have not received a response. There are peshmergas from all parties, even veteran PDK peshmergas. So far we have not been paid much. What did we work for? For the officials the money goes to the door, but the family of a peshmerga also dies of starvation, it is a great shame. They should be responsible for embarrassment. We do not accept this, as we did in the past, we are ready to work today.
We have not only come to parliament for ourselves, we have also come for our people. “Our people must not go hungry.”
Another peshmerga says that the parliament was built with the blood of the martyrs and that their problem should be solved.
It is worth mentioning that on March 27, the Iraqi Ministry of Finance sent 200 billion dinars to the employees of the Kurdistan Region. Although Iraq sends staff salaries, the Regional Government does not distribute them.
