An assistant commandant of Central Reserve Police Force’s elite unit CoBRA (Commando Battalion for Resolute Action) was killed while nine other personnel were injured in an IED blast triggered by Maoists in Chhattisgarh’s Sukma district of India on Saturday night.
The action took place in the Arabrajmetta hills in Chintagufa at around 8pm following a joint anti-Naxalite operation being launched by CoBRA forces, Special Task Force and District Reserve Guards against the base camps of Chintalnar, Burkapal, Chintagufa on November 28.
It was shared by various Indian media outlets that one person, an assistant commandant by the name of Nitin Bhalerao, died in the action while a further 9 enemy forces were wounded.
