ISTANBUL, TURKEY
The HDP Youth Assembly called for support for the hunger strike actions which are burgeoning in Turkish prisons, against the aggravated isolation being imposed on the peoples’ leader Abdullah Ocalan in Imrali island prison.
The indefinite-alternating hunger strikes launched by political prisoners on November 27, was initiated to bring an end to the aggravated isolation being imposed on the Peoples’ Leader Abdullah Öcalan. The action which has reached its 10th day was supported by the youth arm of the HDP (Peoples Democratic Party).
The Youth Assembly, in a video of support they shared, said:
“The hunger strikes launched by political prisoners against the isolation has entered its 10th day today. For this honorable resistance initiated by political prisoners, let’s embrace the resistance in the streets and squares with the spirit of the Kemals, the Mazlums and the Hayris. Their demands are our demands. Long live the dungeon resistance. Bijî berxwedana zindanan!”
