YPG International have shared a message welcoming revolutionaries to join the united struggle against fascism and imperialism. The message, published under the title “It’s not over, the threat is still present, and we continue the struggle: COME AND JOIN US!” is as follows:
YPG International is an antifascist united front that has been a present force in the Rojava Revolution for years; in both struggles against ISIS and the fascist Turkish state along with its terrorist gangs we have been putting our internationalism into action anywhere necessary. From Raqqa to Afrin, those fighting under the banner of YPG International have stood alongside our local comrades in defending the Kurdish freedom movement and a multi-national democratic Syria from all fascist threats. Our martyrs are the proof of our commitment to internationalism and the Revolution; in the same moment, they light the way to a bright future of a democratic Syria, and furthermore, a democratic Middle East.
Though ISIS has been mostly defeated, the struggle is far from over. The fascist Turkish state continues to pose an existential threat to the Rojava Revolution by pushing their terrorist proxies into Afrin, Gire Spi, Serekaniye, and again threatening the people with a new attack. Many of these terrorist gangs have direct connections to ISIS and continue to impose their violent reactionary ideology onto the people in the occupied areas of Rojava, where women are subjected to extreme abuse and men are conscripted to fight for the Turkish state’s neo-Ottoman imperial ambitions.
The enemy will stop at nothing to destroy the social progress made by the Rojava Revolution. Despite the situation now being relatively calm, the fascist Turkish state continues its attack on the people of Northeast Syria through terrorist attacks on civilians, assassinations of political leaders, and the cutting off of vital resources like water. Our enemy has no shame; they do not think twice about bombing innocents with chemical weapons or leaving the people to die from thirst. So long as the enemy continues this campaign of terror, YPG International will continue its presence in the Rojava Revolution and the struggle against the fascist Turkish state.
We, as a group of dedicated revolutionaries believing in the leftist tradition of internationalism, will stay armed and ready so long as the enemy poses a threat; anyone who shares this philosophy is welcome to join our ranks.
Although we see war as a source of pain and suffering for the people involved, we recognize that armed resistance is a necessity against fascism. That being said, YPG International is not just a military force but also a revolutionary organization. This means struggling against the influence of the system within us all, developing ourselves, and building a revolutionary personality. We are here to help build a new way of life free from the harsh soul-crushing domination of capitalist modernity. As we go forward with our work in the Rojava Revolution, we will continue working in all sectors of society to fight for a better life for all people in Northeast Syria and beyond.
We call on all antifascist, democratic, and socialist comrades from across the world: come and join the struggle against fascism, come to defend freedom and the Revolution. Long live the struggle for a better world. Bijî şoreşa Rojava.
