CATALUNYA, EUROPE
Last weekend, different cities in and around Catalunya protested against the aggravated isolation being imposed on the peoples’ leader Abdullah Öcalan.
In different points across Catalunya, people poured to the streets to protest injustice, prison, isolation and the lack of democracy in the Turkish state. People demanded the Freedom for Öcalan in the framework of a European campaign.
In Sant Cugat people gathered in a central square of the village, with a banner reading the slogan “Freedom for Abdullah Öcalan – Kurdish revolutionary in prison & isolated for 21 years in Turkey”.
In Lleida, the youth took the streets to paint murals with messages such as “freedom for Öcalan” and “From Lleida to Kurdistan, together we fight fascism.”
The two artists Xavi Pedemonte (@xavielpetit) and Thor San (@Thorsana) painted a mural of the peoples’ leader Abdullah Öcalan and a YPJ fighter.
