The resistance witnessed in Kobanê is being celebrated by diverse groups of people around the world and is commemorated as the frontline where humanity fought shoulder to shoulder against fascism.
On the historic day, our correspondent Can Alewî spoke to the people of Kobanê about the importance of this day as well as the Kobanê resistance itself.
The father named Dirêyi Osman stated that it gives great strength to the people to deal with the aftermath of the atrocities they witnessed, to know that they have the support of the people of the world. Dirêyi explained how valuable it is that a German, an Italian, and a Kurd fought together on the same frontline, were wounded together and treated each other. The father explained that this support and the joint suffering were enough to break the enemy.
Dirêyi Osman emphasized that traces of ISIS barbarism still exist, and stated that the city of Kobanê has been liberated with the blood of the youth of the world.
In the continuation of Dirêyi Osman’s speech, he said: “The Turkish state is a state without conscience. The Turks make propaganda in the name of Islam, but the real Turkish state is the bloodsucker of humanity.” said.
A young man from Kobanê, Bekir, stated in his speeches that this day is a holy day and emphasized that this resistance has developed with the leadership of the youth. Noting that Kobanê is known for its resistance, Bekir said “just as we defeated the ISIS gangs belonging to the invading Turkish state, we will also defeat the invading Turkish state.”
