The Yazidi youth and young people from Southern Kurdistan protested the bloody agreement between the KDP and Iraqi government.
The youth, in a press statement, evaluated the Shengal agreement and the KDP’s intervention as an attempt to betray the Yazidî Kurdish people and all people in Southern Kurdistan.
In the statement made in the Kurmanji and Sorani dialects of Kurdish, the youth stated the following:
“As Yazidi youth from Southern Kurdistan, we announce that a treacherous plan has been made behind the Êzidî people in Shengal. Now the Iraqi state has sent more than 10,000 soldiers there again without the knowledge and consent of the Shengal people. This is a great danger not only for the Yazidis there, but for the whole of Southern Kurdistan. It is unacceptable that the Barzani tribe, together with the Iraqi state and the occupying Turkish state, head towards the Shengal region again. No decision will be accepted without the approval of the Yazidi community and the Shengal Democratic Autonomous Council.”
