CENTRAL NEWS

The brother of HPG Martyr Ayşe Bayram, Miyaser Bayram, renounced the Turkish state’s dirty policies against the bodies and families of PKK martyrs. Miyaser explained that his sisters body, like hundreds of other guerrillas, was burried in a cemetary for orphanages despite substantial evidence to prove biological relations between the siblings.

Miyaser spoke to the press during a conference held outside the cemetery atfer his sister was buried without his family’s knowledge in a cemetery for orphanages, by the fascist Turkish state. He asked, “What do they want from us?”

Speaking here,  Yüksel Almas said that the area where they were found was a cemetery for orphans, but the graves were not orphans.

Emphasizing that the bodies of HPG members were buried without waiting for DNA result, Yüksel Almas, the co-chair of MEBYA-DER, pointed out that a special war policy is being implemented on the families.

“You won’t recognize the corpse even if you saw her”

Miyaser Bayram shared the information that his sister had joined the HPG in 2014 and was immortalised in a conflict that broke out in Şırnak’s Beytüşşebap district in 2019.

Expressing that they applied to the prosecutor’s office to claim the Martyr’s body after her martyrdom, Bayram said that the prosecutor informed that DNA samples from both the mother and father of the martyr must be provided before the body was handed over.

Reminding that his father died 30 years ago and his mother 19 years ago, Bayram explained to the prosecutor that he would recognize his sister if he saw her, and said, “The prosecutor told me ‘you will not recognize it even if you see it’. Then he insulted us and took us out of the room ”.

Urging that he has 7 siblings and that the DNA sample should be taken from them, Bayram said, “My father has passed away for 30 years and my mother for 19 years. What do they really want from us? Why do they still want my mom and dad’s DNA? ” He asked.

The fascist Turkish state systematically uses the bodies of PKK martyrs as a method for emotional torture against Kurdish families. While some families are made to wait years before they are able to retrieve their martyrs, other families are only notified of their children’s graves. These graves are constantly the targets of fascist Turkish soldiers who break tombstones regularly. On the other hand, the fascist Turkish state also implements these policies by exhuming the bodies of the martyrs.

Corpses of 300 Kurdish freedom fighters found stacked in boxes under sidewalk in Kilyos

The body of a HPG guerrilla was buried in a cemetery for orphanages by the fascist Turkish state, despite her family . The public prosecutor rejected the families demands to see the guerrilla, stating she is unrecognisable.
