BEHDİNAN, SOUTHERN KURDISTAN
Recently, a group of 16 young people from different cities of Bakure (North) Kurdistan announced their decision to join the PKK. Among those who joined the PKK, is Ismail Kurt from the Kurt family (a family of contra-guerrillas). Ismail spoke to Nûçe Ciwan agency about why he chose to abandon the line of collaboration being imposed on him.
İsmail Kurt, a member of a family of contra-guerrillas, called on his family to abandon the AKP’s path and choose the path of freedom. He said the following:
“My name in the movement is Çekdar Amed. I had to come here today for the revolution of the Revolutionary People’s War. The reason why I joined is because of the massacres in Sur, Agirî and Cizîra Botan, the psychological warfare waged on young people every day, and the massacre and genocide carried out against Kurdish women. I oppose this situation, and want to revolutionize myself.
Militarily and ideologically, I found the best future for myself in the ranks of the PKK. The PKK is really waging the Revolutionary People’s War. The PKK is not only a military, or just a Kurdish party, but also the Leader of the entire world, not just the Leader of the Kurdish people. The PKK, is not only the army of the Kurdish people, but the army of all peoples of the world. The PKK stands behind those who claim their rights and oppose massacres and genocides.
One of the things I have been affected by the PKK is the participation of so many people from Europe, Asia, and the Middle East. Why? Because the Revolutionary People’s War it wages is not only for the Kurdish and Kurdistan. The PKK is waging this war to create a democratic nation, for all peoples, and for equality. Because of this, all the peoples of the world head here. When they looked at Europe, they used to say that Peoples Leader Abdullah Öcalan is only the Leader of the Kurdish people. When you look at it now, Europe and Asia who love the Leader as much as the Kurds, and the whole world knows this very well.”
Psychological warfare is waged on young people in Bakurê Kurdistan
“Today, as a young man, I say that the fascist Turkish State is waging a psychological war in Bakure (Northern) Kurdistan, dragging the youth into drugs, prostitution and theft. If I had not joined the PKK for a year or two, I would not have been different, if I had not been involved in this war and revolution.
Every day we see on TV and with our eyes that the Turkish state has occupied Kurdistan, what is the Turkish state doing in Kurdistan? Also it is not only Turkish state waging psychological war on us, but entire world states have some presence here. What are they doing in Kurdistan? One must really thin about this, and the effects of this on our people. Because I am against this situation, I said, I have to fight, I have to make a revolution in myself.”
Young people should rebel against this situation
“When I looked at the situation, I saw myself in Guerrillaism, the ideology of the PKK and the philosophy of the Leader. I see myself in the PKK, because I can only complete my shortcomings here. When we look at the guerrilla system against psychological wars and massacres, the PKK stands against fascism and massacres. I would like to say to the youth and young women of Bakûrê Kurdistan in particular, that there are great psychological wars and massacres on them. The more silent they remain in this situation, the more oppressed they are, but the more they rebel against it, the less scared they will be. When you look at the PKK because of this, you will see that it is founded on these principles.”
Süleyman Soysuz is lying
“Bakûr should not remain silent against this situation, Suleyman Soysuz says Kurdish youth do not join the PKK. Here we are and here, we are joining. The PKK is the People, the People are Here. We will never step back. Against this psychological war, not one, not two, but thousands of young people should join the PKK.”
My family must get out of the AKP’s path
“My call to my family is that they are walking on a very bad road, and they are not ashamed of this situation. They are walking by the invading Turkish regime, the AKP. I want to tell them this: Do not be silent against the enemy, because no matter how quiet you stay, you will also be crushed one day because you are also Kurdish. No matter how much you try to change this.
My family’s work affects and disrupts our lives. Let my family know where their children are from now on and with whom they are fighting. An honorable death is the most meaningful state of life. Finally, the PKK has been standing firmly on the philosophy of Serok Apo for 43 years, and I congratulate everyone on the anniversary of its founding.”
