WAN, NORTHERN KURDISTAN
An Iranian woman was raped by two security guards in a deportation center in Wan. Defending themselves after the atrocity which took place in the Kurubaş Deportation Center (GGM) affiliated with Wan Provincial Immigration Administration, one of the rapists pledging his loyalty to the Turkish state as a defense for his act.
According to the information obtained, an Iranian refugee (ZM) was captured by Turkish security forces and was quarantined in the deportation center for precautionary purposes. On July 22, after the lights went out at night, a security guard at the center (IHK) entered the ZM’s room and raped her. Another officer (YV) also raped the young woman.
ARRESTED
The rape which took place on 22 July, was reported by the woman on 26 July. The woman’s statements given to the director of the center and later the gendarmerie revealed that three men had raped her, though only two were identifiable.
The two rapists were arrested in the Criminal Court of Peace on the charge of “qualified sexual abuse” and put in the Wan Type-T Closed Prison.
“I AM DEVOTED TO MY COUNTRY,” AS A DEFENSE FOR RAPE
In his statement, sexual predator IHK defended his atrocious acts by pledging his loyalty to the state. Like other rapist members of the fascist Turkish state, IHK stated: “I am devoted to my country and nation.” Both rapists denied involvement. An indictment has not yet been prepared about the defendants.
