TEQTEQ, SOUTHERN KURDISTAN
Internal security forces affiliated with the PUK attacked young people protesting the betrayal by the KDP. The young people who initiated their action despite all attempts to block anti-betrayal initiatives, the PUK detained the young people.
PUK secutiy forces in Teqteq blocked a march by young people who had gathered from all parts of southern Kurdistan to unite against the KDP’s dirty alliance with the fascist Turkish state which utilizes all opportunities to commit a massacre against the Kurdish people. The intervening PUK forces confiscated Nûçe Ciwan cameras amongst the equipment of other press agencies.
PUK sides with pro-war KDP
Youth from north, west, east and south of Kurdistan gathered in Garê today to march against the traitorous policies of the KDP who is working together with the fascist AKP regime to commit a massacre against Kurds. The activists had organized the march to bring an end to the KDP’s pro-war policies, and demanded national unity. The internal security forces of Teqteq, a security force under the command of the PUK, blocked the action which was set to begin.
The cameras and equipment of Nûçe Ciwan, Rojnews, ANF, Aryen Tv, and Stêrk Tv were confiscated while reporters were blocked from entering the area where the action was set to begin. The youth started their march despite all attempts of the PUK to block anti-betrayal and anti-war initiatives. Tensions between the young people and the security forces continue.
Detained activists
According to live reports from the region, many people have been detained by the PUK regime for attempting to protest the KDP’s dirty policies. The reporters in the area were taken in a separate vehicle. Their locations remain unknown.
