It has been revealed that ORSAM which promotes itself as a center of cooperation and research, has established a center of special warfare in southern Kurdistan with the aid of the media outlets of the KDP, Rudaw Channel in particular, against the Kurdistan Freedom Movement. As in Turkey-occupied northern Kurdistan, the MIT controls all news in regard to Kurdish diplomatic relations and the PKK from a center for psychological warfare.
It has been learned that the Center for Middle Eastern Studies (ORSAM), which introduces itself as an Ankara-based think tank and aid organization in Southern Kurdistan, has established a special war center with the support of MIT-Parastin and has been cooperating with the KDP’s media outlets. It was learned that KDP established a spy-network through media workers and transferred information to the MIT against the Freedom Movement.
According to the information we have reached by Lêkolin.org, ORSAM cooperated with MIT-Parastin to support and to expand the perception operations and psychological warfare methods being implemented in southern Kurdistan through Rudaw Tv. According to the information obtained, a special meeting was held in October 2012 where Rudaw TV editor-in-chief Umran Keko (codename Ako Mahmûd), İsmail Numan Telci, Rêbwar Kerîm Welî and Mamend Roje (RUDAW TV research center manager) were present in Ankara. These members from Rudaw’s ideological-arm signed an agreement at the meeting where it was decided that ORSAM would provide all kinds of financial support to the KDP media for it to feed the psychological incentives of the Turkish state.
Later, in February 2019, Göktuğ Sönmez and Mamend Roje were elected as the persons responsible to maintain relations between the two institutions in the second meeting with MİT officials in Ankara. It was learned that the traitor Mamend Roje who ran away from the PKK ranks in 2004 to Hewler, was assigned as the Rudaw TV research center manager for special war activities and is still carrying out this activity. Again, in the monthly meetings, it was learned that the decision was taken to carry out black propaganda and special programs in order to create a negative attitude amongst the people of the south against the Freedom Movement.
ORSAM (Center for Middle Eastern Studies) was established in January 2009. Although it disguises itself as an impartial and non-profit think tank on the front lines of the Middle East, it was learned that ORSAM is conducting geopolitical, intelligence and military researches that guide the invading Turkish state and army behind the scenes. Its main purpose is to conduct research on the PKK, PJAK, PYD, Tevgera Azadî and the forces waging a freedom struggle in the four parts of Kurdistan, and to transfer all the information obtained to the MIT center. Despite having its headquarters in Ankara, ORSAM, for which the budget was allocated directly by Erdogan himself, has developed a network of agents and spies in Southern Kurdistan and wages a psychological war through intelligence and the KDP media.
ORSAM’s main role is psychological operations in southern Kurdistan
The psychological operations think-tank, ORSAM, is collecting intelligence against the Freedom Movement and its affiliated parties, paying particular attention to the guerrilla’s course of action and their bases.
Again, it was confirmed that they gathered information about a political party in Southern Kurdistan which sympathizes with the Freedom Movement. These activities were not limited to sympathizers but also influential personalities, journalists and activists, who were made a target by the KDP media. According to the information obtained by Lekolin, ORSAM, which established a network for MIT directives, carries out perception operations against the Freedom Movement on social media through this network. In addition, it was revealed that ORSAM, besides its spying activities in the South, aimed to strike the PKK from within by sending its agents into the PKK ranks.
Responsibles and Members
Although the representatives of ORSAM appear to be Feyzullah Tuna Aygün (Iraq Studies Expert) and Bilgay Duman (Iraq Studies Coordinator), the reality behind the scenes begs to differ.
In reality, Ahmet Uysal carries out special war activities in Southern Kurdistan jointly with Parastin and KDP media, it was determined by Lekolin sources. It was informed that Ahmet is in direct cooperation with Parastin in order to monitor the activities of the Freedom Movement and its guerrillas.
Other responsible persons actively taking part in these dirty activities are as follows;
İsmail Numan Telci: Although ORSAM’s deputy administration is disguised as the Gulf Studies Coordinator, he is the mastermind of the perception operations carried out against the Freedom Movement with the KDP media in Southern Kurdistan and Rudaw TV in particular.
Göktuğ Sönmez: Sönmez, ORSAM’s Security Studies Director (security file officer), held monthly meetings with KDP media workers in Southern Kurdistan and tarets the PKK-sympathising party, prominent personalities, journalists and activists who are later targeted by the KDP media.
Recep Yorulmaz: ORSAM’s Director of Economic Studies (economics dossier) focuses on the Middle East economy issues in relation to Recep. It is the one who provides all kinds of financial and technical equipment to the KDP media by cooperating with the KDP government on this field.
