The youth and people of Kurdistan have been protesting the 1993 PKK-ban attempting to criminalize the Kurdish people and their freedom struggle. On the 27th anniversary of the ban, Kurdistanis and their friends rebuked the ban in Germany. Following the actions held by internationalist activists in Frankfurt, actions were also held in the German cities of Hanover and Hamburg.
Hanover
Young people and Kurds gathered in Hanover against the PKK ban and carried out their protests across the central train station. In the action supported by internationalist institutions, statements were made against the PKK ban.
Although the banners with the picture of People’s Leader Abdullah Öcalan were wanted to be confiscated by the German police, the protesters refused to hand over the photos of the peoples’ leader.
While the verdict was protested with slogans chanted in German against the PKK ban, an idealist fascist who wanted to provoke the action was removed from the area of action.
The action ended with the slogans “Es Lebe Öcalan” (Long Live Öcalan).
Hamburg
Hamburg was another city where an action was held to rebuke the 27th anniversary of the PKK ban.
The Kurds and their friends who came together at the Sternschanze train station in Hamburg at 15 o’clock started the march with the slogans “PKK is the people, the people are here” and “Biji PKK”. In the speeches, it was stated that the ban on the PKK was a disrespect to the will of the Kurdish people, and it was stated that the ban should be removed as soon as possible.
Many Kurdish patriots from Kiel attended the march, where the posters of People’s Leader Abdullah Öcalan were carried.
The action ended with a rally held in front of the Rote Flora Cultural Center.
