The flooring in a children’s playground in Istanbul’s Küçükçekmece district was removed because its yellow, red and green floors resembled the “colors of a terrorist organization.”

The yellow, red and green colors of a playground’s flooring in Küçükçekmece district of Istanbul were removed on the grounds that it promoted a terrorist organization. The colors attempting to be criminalized are in fact the colors of the flag of Kurdistan.

A media outlet of the fascist Turkish state shared “The colors used in the playground, which was renovated by the CHP municipality in Küçükçekmece, resembled the symbols of the terrorist organization, drawing great reaction. An investigation was initiated into the incident.” While some press agencies associated with the AKP criminalized the use of color, other sources claimed that the stars resembled the flag of the YPG which was referred to as a terrorist organization.
