BEHDİNAN, SOUTHERN KURDISTAN
A group of 16 young people from various cities in Kurdistan announced that they are joining the PKK. The youth read a statement they had written, explaining their reason for joining the guerrillas of Kurdistan.
Reading their statement, Sorxwîn Viyan explained the following:
“Unprecedented, absolute torture is being practiced on our Leadership. Policies of degeneration, spying and assimilation are being imposed on the youth and people of Kurdistan, and have become unbearable. Against these attacks, we decided to head to the mountains of Kurdistan, with the will to become free human beings.
November 27 is the day of the Kurdish people’s revival. With its struggle, the PKK has given hope to the peoples of the world with the values it has created. We feel content that we have made the decision to join on such a date. On this occasion, we celebrate the anniversary of the founding of the PKK on November 27, which our people regard as the day of resurrection from the ashes. We celebrate this day especially for Leader Apo, our holy martyrs and our people. ”
Sorxwîn Viyan emphasized the importance of guerrillaisation in the statement and continued as follows;
“Leader Apo taught our people how to hope and reunited them with their core values. Over the past decades, the PKK has demonstrated a tremendous resilience for the freedom of our people. They achieved the revival of people on the brink of death. Now it is time to add strength.
Today, we know well that the most effective way for us to participate in the liberation struggle is to join the ranks of the guerrilla. Colonialism and fascism can only be overthrown by struggle. Life is unacceptable within the fascist system. For this reason, we expect that all young people who are Kurdish, democrat, socialist, patriot, come to the mountains of Kurdistan. In order to be more active in the struggle, we have to get back at them.”
The only way to fight against the Republic of Turkey is guerrillaisation
“From here, we want to make a call to our families. Be proud of us. For us, this decision is a debt of the respect and value you gave us. Fighting for a free country is the most fundamental duty of all people who are human beings. Today, the only way to fight against the fascist TR, which is trying to take away our right to life, is through guerrillaisation. We believe that by participating in the struggle in the areas you are in, you will also fulfill your patriotic duties to their place.
We will avenge Egit Civyan
Our struggle for freedom stems from the labor of Egi̇t Civyans, Yılmaz Dersims and countless heroic martyrs and marches to victory. We promise martyr Egi̇d Ci̇vyan, that we will get revenge for all our martyrs. We will be worthy of the efforts of our martyrs, and we will always keep their memories alive in our struggle. We will destroy the degenerate and their gangs.
While the people of Kurdistan are faced with the genocide policy today, while Leader Apo was in Imrali with an unprecedented isolation for years, we could not continue our lives as if nothing had happened. On this basis, we consider it a revolutionary duty to be a revolutionary from Kurdistan in order to break the isolation imposed on Leader Apo, to destroy the fascist practices imposed on the Kurdish people and youth, and to ensure our freedom. We are declaring that we will win victory by fighting against Turkish fascism and destroy the fascist Turkish state and the legendary gangs. On this basis we urge all youth to fight in the ranks of HPG \ YJA-Star.”
