War rapes and the rape war – the ideology of the state

The mindset which produces rape is a mindset which has become institutionalized and embedded in all its members in more than one way. How did this mentality develop, and why is rape used as a special tool of war?

CENTRAL NEWS

Power, assimilation, exploitation, colonization, hierarchy, patriarchy, murder, genocide, femicide… these are all products of a system which is dominated by the mentality of the male. What this mentality implants is the culture of rape.

Rape is an instrument, a method and a characteristic of the dominant male mentality that describes the hierarchical civilization which we live in today. It is a mentality that the system has drilled into our heads from as early as our childhoods. Institutions of the state like schools, or as Rêber Apo describes the family, a little version of the state, prepare us for this mentality as we become its reproducers. This is a process to eliminate society’s genuine culture.

The culture of the goddesses from the Neolithic Age overcame enormous attacks and are still fighting its legendary war of resistance. But one of the most pressing issues we face today is the growing phenomenon of 5000 years of rape culture. One of the most ancient example of this mentality is the institution of the ‘’Musakkatin’’ of the Babylonian state, which is the first male dominated hierarchical social system back in 2500 BC.

The Musakkatin was a former temple of women used for education and art but was stolen by the state of Babylon into a marginalized institution for prostitution. The male has become this exact system, his mentality is a slave to this culture of power. He targets the woman. Because she is the one that will naturally live the culture of her mothers. The culture of freedom, love and equality of the unequal.

Women naturally create and shape the principles and moralities of their society. It was the woman that created the society, with all its moralities and developments, that rose up to become the revolution of the Neolithic Age. It is the culture of Ishtar and Ninhursag.

What the male mentality targets is to destroy the culture of our mother goddesses, to sustain its own system of power. In shirt, it is the opposite of civilization’s culture of power and violence. Without rape culture the male’s system cannot exist, nor could it legitimize itself. With the development of hierarchy and the growing power that was accumulated, rape increasingly becomes a fundamental method used to secure power. First to enslave the women, second for invasion, exploitation and expansion of power.

The first to oppose this mentality is the woman. Violence against women, sexual violence against women, domestic violence against women, rape, murder, femicide, prostitution marriage (child marriages or dowry marriages) …  this is the language of the dominant male mentality used against women. And it seems to be OK or even normal.

The woman is not seen as a subject. She cannot be accepted as a thinking being which lives with a free will. The rapist will treat her without any ethical borders. The woman’s position in society was lowered to a sexual object by the man mentality; breaking the woman’s will and making her a slave unable to express her will. Her will is what makes her herself and lets her be herself.

As Rêber Apo says: “…the most valuable possession of the man is the woman and all that she can do is to obey him absoluelty.’’

Colonization through rape

Another phenomenon is that rape is a common method of colonization politics to destroy resisting movements, especially in the case of resisting women’s organizations. This method is especially used by states of a more fascist colour.

The colour of the state is the colour of fascism and as the concentration of fascism becomes higher, the state’s power becomes stronger. Take Turkey, for instance, where the state uses rape as a common instrument against Kurdish women. This is a method of special warfare which serves the purpose of assimilation against women, to normalize sexual violence, rape and murder against women. This method is implemented especially during times when women’s movements become stronger. We were able to observe this in Turkey in the last 10 years as rape and femicide statistics are on an endless escalation. Thus, in 2019 alone, 6284 women were killed.

The male system invades the body and the mind. It destroys her from within, uses her and takes her freedom.
Turkey is just one example. All over the world, politics of this kind are used against women. Some of them are much softer and harder to recognize. This is why we as women have to educate ourselves about the mentality of power and our own enslavement through the system of the dominant male mentality. For us as young women it is important to know how we are being used and what is being done to us, our sisters and mothers. We have to use our minds and hearts to analyse and see through this mentality. If we do, we can be the strongest force against this system.

Our ‘’NO’’ will be heard and our will, will be respected. For now, our task is to unmask this system and reincarnate the values of our genuine culture in ourselves.
