Police raided the office of Mesopotamia Agency in Wan and detained the 4 journalists who had documented the throwing of two Kurdish villagers from a helicopter by Turkish soldiers.
Mesopotamia Agency’s Wan Bureau and the homes of many journalists, including agency reporters, were raided this the morning. MA reporters Adnan Bilen and Cemil Uğur, and Jinnews reporters Şehriban Abi and Nazan Sala were detained during the raids.
The police confiscated the journalists’ cameras and technical equipment. The raids in the offices of Mezopotamya continues.
Wan bureau had documented two Kurdish villagers being thrown from a helicopter
The journalist Cemil Uğur, who was taken into custody, documented that Servet Turgut and Osman Şiban, who were taken into custody by the soldiers in the Çatak district of Wan and were thrown out of the helicopter after being tortured. Turgut had lost his life in the intensive care unit of the hospital he was being treated.
