Lawyers of People’s Leader Abdullah Öcalan, Raziye Turgut, Rezan Sarıca, Serbay Köklü and İbrahim Bilmez, applied to Bursa Chief Public Prosecutor’s Office to meet with their clients tomorrow.
An aggravated isolation is being imposed on the peoples’ leader since he was abducted to the island prison. His lawyers had been prevented from seeing the leader since July 27, 2011.
After an 8-year period of aggravated isolation, hunger strikes and death fasts were initiated by over 7,000 people under the leadership of Democratic Society Congress (DTK) Co-chair Leyla Güven. The actions which were started by Leyla spread to all prisons in Turkey, Kurdistan and Europe, forcing the fascist Turkish state to allow visitations with the leader of the people, Abdullah Ocalan, on May 2, 2019.
The isolation period continues with a lawyer and phone call ban.
Lawyer-ban
On September 23, Leader Abdullah Öcalan and the other inmates in Imrali prison (Ömer Hayri Konar, Veysi Aktaş and Hamili Yıldırım) were given a 6-month attorney ban by the Bursa 2nd Execution Judge.
The decision for the ban was taken as a “disciplinary measure” against the 156-page “Road Map” which was presented to the European Court of Human Rights (ECHR) as a continuation of Leader Öcalan’s defence in 2009.
Similar rulings by the Prison Disciplinary Board were made on March 2, 2018, September 6, 2018 and March 13, 2019 after 20 July 2016.
