A report titled “The Central Government Budget Expectations and Outcome Report” was released by Turkey’s Strategy and Budget Directorate. The report compared budget expenditures of public institutions between the months of January-June, last year and this year.
Expenditure by the Religious administration, a public administration in Turkey, saw one of the highest rises. The general budget for the religious institute was 5 billion 43 million 119 thousand liras in the first 6 months of last year while spending increased by 12.2 percent in the same period this year, reaching 5.6 billion liras.
The institution with the highest increase in 6-month expenditure among the public institutions was the Directorate of National Palaces Administration. The administration’s expense in the first 6 months of this year increased by 273.4 percent compared to the same period last year, from 21.9 million lira to 81.8 million lira. The almost 300% rise of budget to the palace administration sparked outrage during a pandemic which is being poorly handled by the Erdogan regime.
The 6-month expenditure of the Presidency Strategy and Budget Department, which ranked second in spending, increased by 219.5 percent from 51.4 million lira to 164.3 million lira.
