HEFTANÎN, SOUTHERN KURDISTAN
As it has been reported over the past weeks, the guerrillas of the PKK have been victoriously repulsing the forces of the fascist Turkish state despite all their technological advantages, being NATO’s second-strongest army. In Heftanin, the guerrillas showed the true strength of undoubted belief and the power of human.
Just as the Heftanin warriors did not put up an ordinary fight, they rejected to be martyred in unexceptional ways. While some spread their wings on the cliffs of Xantur, falling free to martyrdom, others saved their best bullets for themselves. The warriors of the free future refused to leave behind any piece of themselves, including their weapons, to the hellhounds trying to infiltrate the only friends of the people of Kurdistan.
Here are the last written words of those warriors:
Martyr Zelal Sidem
“A massive invasion attack was launched against Heftanîn. This fascist operation was not only carried out against Heftanîn, but essentially against all areas. We struggle for the people and we fight for them. The enemy occupies our lands, they want to liquidate us, and we will put up resistance against them until the end. The enemy cannot walk around Heftanîn, waving its hands and arms around as it wishes. Heftanîn is the area of Comrade Viyan, it is the home of the dervishes.
I will put my soul into this struggle.”
Martyr Rustem cudi
“We are in Heftanîn. All friends have high morale. We have not stopped as the guerrillas, and it is not possible for the enemy to break our resistance. We are the followers of Öcalan’s idea.
The friends are standing against the enemy in a very sacrificial manner. Some friends were martyred, but they dealt such heavy blows to the enemy. The enemy was stunned in Heftanîn. They did not expect such a resistance from us – and in fact the enemy even made statements on their television.
“We shook the mountains, but their guns are still firing.” These are our mountains. The enemy couldn’t take them from us with all the technical advancements and collaborators of the world.
Long live the resistance of the HPG, long live the resistance of Rojava.”
Martyr Ferman Memyan
“A war was started in Heftanîn. The aim of the Turkish state was to invade the South. The enemy wanted to make set downs in the Heftanîn area under the name of ‘Operation Claw 3’. However, the guerrillas hit them, and they could not deliver as expected. Because we have heavy weapons, docks, mortars. These, too, are frightening the enemy.
We are at war as the mortar team. We have hit critical blows with mortars several times. The enemy’s aim was to invade, and our aim was to repulse their attack. The enemy is afraid of the mountains. Also, our attack is superior to theirs. Our fields will be graves for them. Our goal is success in 2020. Our aim is the revenge of our martyrs. Our aim is Victory and success.”
Martyr Warshin Avashin
“We are now in Heftanîn. We are in Martyr Dersim area. Heftanîn is being attacked by the enemy and there is a great resistance. We are rebuilding everything. We are having a hard time, but in terms of results we have built a fortress of resistance here. We made each of our martyrs a part of our hearts. Our friends have high expectations. We owe them for their efforts. People who are a part of this struggle gain the abilities to feel more with time. When we say goodbye, we hug each other with great love and sincerity. It is the first time I am feelings so many emotions. Most of the time I trust my energy. I did not complain about the difficulties of my life. I am not afraid of death.
If there is a death ahead of me, then just like the honourable women of my country who saw their land as their honour and joined these ranks, I have been fighting for this freedom struggle for seven years.
My family is a patriotic family and their participation is high. Until I am worthy of Leader Apo and my family, I am ready to fight in this struggle and be martyred on this road. But I have a will that my comrades must fulfil:
Tell my mother that if I fall a martyr, when my body is taken, all my relatives must gather around me. Let them all light candles and circle around me. Let my mother hold my palms and put henna on them. Let the fingers of my mother, sisters and aunts rip through the sky, and let my mother and sisters carry my coffin. At that moment, only women should walk with me.
Let my mother grant her other children to the revolution at that moment, and may my gun not remain on the ground. My comrades should know that every beat of my heart is with them, even though we are physically distant from each other, my soul and self are with them.
Victory is ours…
For a better future …”
