The Saudi government introduced an embargo which is set to start at the end of this month, against goods stamped “Made In Turkey.”
Saudi Arabia, which imports 3.3 billion dollars worth of Turkish goods per year, has announced that a ‘Made in Turkey’ embargo is set to be initiated as of October. Products which are stamped with the phrase ‘Made in Turkey’ will not enter the borders of the country.
It is stated that the United Arab Emirates (UAE) and Bahrain may also join the embargo.
Anti-Turkey coalition
Tayyip Erdogan has been actively promoting an incredibly ambitious strategy that can be broadly described as Neo-Ottomanism or attempts to restore the grandeur of the Ottoman Empire. This can be seen in its attempts to occupy or intervene in countries such as Syria, Rojava, Egypt, Tunisia, Libya, Lebanon, and Armenia.
The dictator has used regional politics as well as local-menacing to serve this purpose, thus the undercover attempts to put Kurds and Arabs to dispute in the areas liberated by the Autonomous Administration.
In May 2020, Egypt announced an international alliance that includes Greece, Cyprus, the United Arab Emirates and France to confront Turkish provocative moves in Libya and the Mediterranean.
The five nation alliance has since strengthened its stance against the terrorism of the Turkish state in the Middle East, as more countries are taking steps to join the coalition.
