The Long March action which is traditionally organized by Kurdish youth every year, has reached its second day. The action which is participated by thousands of Kurds and internationalist friends every year is organized on the basis of demanding freedom for the People’s Leader Abdullah Öcalan and protesting the Inter-State Conspiracy, where the Leader was abducted and illegally flown to Turkey in a comprehensive plot orchestrated by many world states.
Completing the first day with great morale, the young people started the second day of the march at 08:30 with the same morale. After having breakfast together, some young people performed halay, while others had a discussion. The young people later came together and a short meeting was held.
In the meeting, the general planning for the 2nd day of the march was conveyed and the youth were warned against possible provocations. After the meeting, the young people moved to the starting point of the march. The young people initiated their action with traditional dances and songs.
The action started in Lehrte at 10.30 with a moment of silence in memory of the martyrs of the Kurdistan revolution. The number of participants in the march, which started more enthusiastically than the previous day, also increased.
Young people chanted slogans in German and Kurdish demanding freedom for the People’s Leader Öcalan and condemned Turkish fascism, invasion and genocide attacks. The people saluted the resistance of Cenga Heftanîn while passersby supported the action of the youth with applause.
Just as the first day of the march started in Hannover in memory of Halim Dener, where he was killed by German police, the second day of the march is set to end in Celle where 15-year-old young Arkan was stabbed to death by German fascists on April 7, 2020.
In order to draw attention to this racist attack, a banner was held reading, “Selbstorganisiert gegen Rassimus in Deutschland und überall” (Let’s organize against racism in Germany and everywhere “was unfurled.
Young people will walk 15 km from Lehrte to Celle today.
