The Long March for the freedom of the Kurdish peoples’ leader Abdullah Ocalan started and continues with great excitement, as day two of the action has come to an end.
While the number of young people participating in the action was close to 150 people yesterday, this figure reached 200 today.
The march, which started at 10.30, was given a short break at around 12.30. After a short break, the march continued at around 12.45 pm.
The enthusiasm of the Kurdish and international youth who joined the march from many European countries spread great curiosity and morale. The young people, who walked a total of 15 km today, declared that they are on the streets for the freedom of Leader Öcalan. From time to time, during the march, notices prepared in German were read and the public was informed about the action.
Around 15 o’clock the young people arrived at Celle and took a break there. After the break, the organization “Gemeinsam kämpfen” (Let’s Resist Together) gave a speech. In the speech, the organization emphasized the importance of solidarity and authentic women’s organization.
After the announcement, the young people set out to walk the rest of the march.
During the march, the activists stopped at the place where 15-year-old Êzidî, Arkan Hussein Khalaf was stabbed by a German fascist in Celle, Germany on April 7, 2020. At the commemoration attended by the Khalaf family, the youth, who called for organizing together against racism and fascism, stated that they will not tolerate racist attacks in any way.
After the march, the young people participated in a panel on “assimilation.”
