The Kerkûk youth assembly announced their participation in the ‘End isolation, fascism and occupation’ move which was launched on the anniversary of the fascist Turkish junta, on 12 September. The Youth emphasized that now is “Time to ensure freedom.”
In the statement, it was stressed that the aggravated isolation being imposed on the Peoples Leader Abdullah Öcalan for the past 21 years will no longer be accepted and that active participation will be ensured in the move against occupation.
Noting that breaking the isolation is the only hope the Kurds have of a liberated future, the youth emphasized that every war and genocide policy starts at Imrali island. “During heavier periods of war, we are blocked from hearing from our Leader,” explained one of the youth, Yousef Daraa.
Reading their declaration of participation, a member of the youth assembly stated the isolation imposed upon the Leader of the People, is being implemented on Kurdish people and Kurdistan simultaneously and that this isolation will be fought against to the end.
The youth concluded; “the KCK initiated the ‘End Isolation, Fascism, Occupation’ move, and now is ‘Time to Ensure Freedom.’
