The Kurdistan Strategic Research Centre has reached information that the KDP is pressuring vehicle traders in the Duhok and Zaxo regions, where guerrilla activity is high, to inform KDP officials in the cases of sales which suit the profiles of the guerrillas. The officials enforced that GPS trackers are to be placed on all vehicles, and are to be documented in the name of “vehicle servicing” in specific warehouses. The information is to be obtained on the grounds of providing intelligence to the MIT.
After receiving strong comeback from the PKK guerrillas in Heftanin where they attempted to occupy, the KDP and National Turkish Intelligence (MIT) are jointly taking all measures to be able to hold on in the region. The KDP-MIT duo have gone as far as to impose that auto-traders send all the vehicles they possess to the ‘old security point’ in the name of ‘Vehicle servicing’. These vehicles will be fitted with location tracking devices.
Ankara continues to rain tonnes of explosives on cars
In the ongoing invasion attacks, many massacres took place as a result of the Turkish State’s air strikes. The last of these attacks was on August 11, 2020, when a vehicle was hit by Turkish state reconnaissance planes in the Xakurkê area. Two senior Iraqi Army commanders and PKK guerrilla Agit Garzan were martyred in the attack.
Along with PKK guerrillas, many civilians have lost their lives in the bombardments of these vehicles in the areas of Şeladize, Duhok, Behdinan, Zaxo, Kandil, Kani Masi and Süleymaniye.
The Turkish army listed on their website that this attack was carried out with the aid of “Technical and Local Intelligence” sources.
MIT harmless without KDP
The Turkish State uses the KDP as a tool in most of its attacks on the region. It was learned that the responsible on duty at the GPS placement centre where the vehicles are being sent to, is Imad Şakire Sor who was in charge of the Emergency Response Teams in the Zaxo Military Academy in the past. Imad Şakir has been responsible for the GPS placement centre since 2010.
In the confessions of agents previously captured by the PKK, agents working in the KDP intelligence agency ‘Parastin’ admitted that they acted in line with the MIT’s commands.
New vehicles are chipped
The agents also confessed that vehicles purchased in Southern Kurdistan are being sent to “Vehicle Service” centres before being delivered to the purchaser. It was learned that the purchased vehicles were passed through GPS placement centres established in many places in Southern Kurdistan, especially in Duhok and Zaxo.
According to sources who cannot be named for their own safety, the KDP and MHP are holding secret meetings. Both parties are supposedly nationalist parties but are engaging on the basis of providing intelligence to the representatives of the invading Turkish state.
