In a written statement, the KCDK-E Co-Presidency Council stated:
“Leader Öcalan has been held hostage on İmralı Island for 22 years. The isolation imposed on Leader Öcalan is being applied against the Kurdish people with the state and all its tools. Genocide is being plotted against the people of Kurdistan by maintaining the isolation system.
The Turkish Republic, built on the denial of the Kurds and other peoples, implements rage, genocide and massacre. The AKP-MHP fascism which is constructed on hostility towards the Kurdish people, continues this genocide by carrying out the isolation imposed upon Öcalan, the leader of the Kurdish people. Leader Öcalan is the guarantee of freedom and peace for the Kurdish people and the peoples of the Middle East. He has become a hope for the peoples of the world with his libertarian, democratic and egalitarian ideas.
To embrace Leader Öcalan is to defend the freedom of Kurdistan and the liberation of humanity.
For Leader Öcalan’s freedom, we must raise the resistance everywhere against the genocide and massacres of the Turkish state. The Kurdish people are fighting for their will. With his resistance, he frustrates the international conspiracy. With his resistance, he represents the peace and freedom demands of the peoples of Kurdistan and the world.
To defend Leader Öcalan is to defend humanity. We call on humanity to reject the genocide system of the colonialist Republic, supported by its international powers, and to actively struggle with all means and possibilities.
As KCDK-E we salute the call for the “Time to Ensure Freedom” move, and call on the people of Kurdistan living in all countries of the world and Europe to active resistance. On this occasion, we call for a mass participation in the marches and demonstrations to be held on September 12 in Europe, Australia and Canada with the motto “THE TIME HAS COME.”
